After tonight's debacle, does this team make the playoffs?

I'm interested in seeing the responses with this question. No doubt we have been exposed and every team the plays us will go for the big play and rush the edges, but 85% of teams that start off 4-0 make the playoffs, are we going to be apart of the 15%?

Holy horseapples batman.

ONE GAME!

We will likely be either 5-3 or 6-2 after the MNF game. Not a big deal. This is a playoff team, but until we get an Oline, we aren't winning anything of note.

I still think we will make the playoffs. I think we can still win the division. We are still in the lead. All we have to do is finish with more wins than the teams behind us. This loss sucks, but we still have a game against the rams, 2 against the niners who are not world beaters themselves.. and a game against the seahawks.

Yes, I believe the wind up with 10 or 11 wins.

This is the game we must not lose
We have to win all home games
now we need one win away, would have been nice if it was @ Rams
difficult games, Let's hope we can win the one @ Jets or Seahawks

The one home game not guaranteed is Chicago though

last game @ 49ers. You never know what it could decide. We may give everything we have if it will be for a playoffs spot.

I still believe

This was a trap game on a short week after a big win on Sunday. If most here didn't see this coming they weren't looking very hard. That said this is still a good Playoff caliber Defense when healthy and rested. Can they overcome the Offensive line and the poor running game? I think if healthy they can if Kolb can manage 5 redzone possessions a game. With this offensive line that is going to be a challenge. Feels like the coaches gameplan for the Offense Was underwelming to the point that Kolb had to try to make somethings happen on his own. Not a chance behind that line with no running game. And I ask why with nothing to lose and down 2 TDs on the road we didn't take more shots in the Endzone and hurry up every possession. D did everything they could on short rest, Offense wears the Collar again. Poor playcalling and just about the worst our Oline has ever been. Yet we are 4-1. I think everyone would have taken this at the beginning of the season. Get rested and give a better Offensive gameplan next week. Not ready to release the hounds on a 4-1 team.

Guess someone has to say it, I'm leaning towards "no.". Our odds dropped to 77% tonight. And I'm thinking that the previous teams that finished 4-1 and made the playoffs (a) didn't have o line as porous as ours, and (b) likely didn't have all the anomalies that we seem to have (like being first team since the forties to go 4-0 without a game in which we gained 300+ yards). Going 5-6 or 6-5 may be more difficult than we want to believe considering our schedule gets much more difficult and we have more roadies than home games left.

I think we end up with 10 wins and win the WC game. Homefield advantage does funny things for teams in their first playoff game and Kolb will probably play the game of hsi life.

I'm way less worried about Kolb or Skelton than I am our O-line. If they don't improve, I'll stick with my pre-season 7-9. If they can play like they did the first 3 weeks, then we will definitely make the playoffs.

Yes this is just 1 loss

We need better play from our offensive line and we need to do a better job of running the ball.

Depends on which team shows up. The team that beat NE or Philly or tonight's team. Tough road to hoe coming up.

If there is an offense built to miss the playoffs after starting 4-0 it is this one. Can't run the ball worth a damn? Check. Can't pass protect worth a damn? Check. That's a recipe for disaster if the line doesnt get their ___ together.

I wouldn't put too much stock into this particular game. Short week after an emotional come from behind win and on the road vs. a division opponent? Not exactly the best circumstances.

The whole team looked flat and uninspired. This game meant a LOT to the Rams. I think the Cardinals were mostly interested in some extra time off.

We cant run and we have virtually no vertical passing game. Its going to be really really hard for our offense to put up points on nothing but 5-10 yard throws all coming under pressure. I think 9-7 is our likely record, but with the quality in the NFC this year its going to be hard to get in at 9-7.

This offensive line is so bad, our running game is nonexistent, and our offensive coaching staff refuses to help the o-line, or run plays to stop the pass rush. I have to go with Ouchie's sentiment here. I really, REALLY hope we can keep it together for a playoff run, but I have serious doubts.

Could it?

Sure, it should too, because for all the holes we have and we do have them, we also have a ton of talent too.

What would be required is a realistic assement of what we have, and a great plan to maximize it and hide our weaknesses as glaring as they to the greatest extent possible.

The problem and why we MIGHT not reach the playoffs are as follows:

All of a sudden we're in the toughest division in football.

Our coaching staff is at best third best in the division.
