Secondary still looks pretty Grimm with William Gay starting and scrubs behind him.

Why did we not resign Marshall again?

Flemming plays like a veteran and looks like he might be ready for prime time by mid-season. Toler is still shaking off rust from the injury.

Call 'em scrubs, but I think both are, at worst, competent starters.

Is it allowable for a team to condition a pick on where that pick winds up after the regular season?

i.e. Can you stipulate that the pick will be a 5th round pick if it's slotted at #1 - #16, but a 4th round pick if it's slotted between #17 - #32?

It is allowable.

So is something like if the Vikings end up with a higher pick in rounds 4 and 5 we can swap our picks to move up in each round.

yes

Jefferson did us well in a tight spot- I seen no clear seperation between him and Toler - He is worth something - and something is what we got.

PP is still getting burned at CB no matter how much everybody talks good about him- rookie mistakes galore just this preseason. He is worring way to much about helping others instead of concentrating on his primary responsibility.

Fleming has to develop- mature - seasoned WR's have their way with all our CB's. that is the way I see it.

It is allowable.

Well? What the heck is your definition of "well"?

Because he did so well that he got pulled in favor of Mike Adams and Marshall as the #2. He did so well that this off season we went and signed William friggin Gay.

Theres no separation between Jefferson and a 1 legged Toler, I agree.

AJ Jefferson is a solid CB, this is a good move by Minnesota and not a good one for Cardinals. He was mirroring WRs better than any other CB on our roster. If he had ball tracking abilities he could become a top CB. However thats the problematic part of the position, the hardest in NFL. Not only you have to blanket but also be able to find the football. PP has the reverse problem at times.

In many regards he reminds me of a more athletic Rod Hood. He will never be a great starting CB because he cant locate the football. But his ability to mirror the WRs is a very good ability that many dont posess. Also he is young and with experience he can learn more on how to play the pass better, find that football. Its a shame to give up a solid servicable cb with an upside for what probably will be just a minor change in pick position. Minnesota is terrible at the position, they upgraded the unit with this move.
