Thanks, yeah that was brutally bad. Sounded like he couldn't hear himself singing?
yeah--something. Even when the judges were being critical he just kept nodding, like, "Yeah, I know"Thanks, yeah that was brutally bad. Sounded like he couldn't hear himself singing?
I'm not sure; I'm familiar with it because my folks went to Hawaii last year & bought the cd...the guy that sings it IS HUGE, but I think he's passed away now.I actually liked Castro's song. Was that version recently featured in a movie? It sounded familiar...maybe 50 First Dates?
Wiki said:In 2006, a version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", in an arrangement based on Iz', was performed by The Worthless Peons in "My Way Home", the 100th episode of Scrubs, over the closing montage. A recording of the same song by Iz was used in the closing scenes of the final episode of Life on Mars (TV Series). It is also a featured song in the movies Finding Forrester, Meet Joe Black and 50 First Dates. In 2002, the song was used to powerful effect in the closing scenes of Anthony Edwards' last appearance in E.R. as Dr. Mark Greene, in the episode 'On The Beach'. In 2008, American Idol contestant, Jason Castro performed Israel's arrangement of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" on the ukulele.
Johns was gonna go sooner or later. It pisses me off though that he went befiore Castro or Carly... man I can't stand those two... they SUCK!
.
I thought Johns was as talented as anyone else on stage, but I could NOT stand his fast vibrato. It irritates me, like yodeling. Was happy to seem him go. So should his fans, because now he can go and make whatever music he wants to. Won't have to bend over to the Idol production machine.
Who were the bottom three?
I'm surprised Johns went (apparently, from the post above), but not surprised he was in the bottom. There were far worse performers than Johns left.
Don't they end up indentured servants to AI for a couple of years if they make the final X or is that just the winner?
Wow...how incredibly lame. All her music sounds the same.So the Idols are going to take on Mariah Carey tonight. Should be okay for most, but a potential trainwreck for all. May be worth watching.

This is sort of not fair. Carey has the A+ voice -- perfect pitch, operatic range, total control. No past Idol winners could pull off a Carey song. None of Carey's music is very interesting if sung by someone else.
Totally agree... This has all the making of a disastrous night...
