how is it ruined?

why can't someone enjoy watching a kid struggle his way through it or watching some of these other half talents get sent home by a kid who obviously sucks

after all, who forced him into the voting stage of this thing?

Gwen Stefani is "coaching" this week.

Luckily they get to pick pop songs of their choice and aren't limited to Stefani's catalogue.

They are picking from Gwen's favorite songs, not just pop songs..

Sanjaya is a freaking ******. I'll bet that girl is crying this week because of what he did to his hair.

It's a bad night when Nosferatu is my favorite choice.

I thought all of them underperformed.

Jordin was out of breath. Melinda ages herself song after song. Lakisha was horrid (bottom 3 today I bet).

Bottom 3 for me: Chris Sligh, Lakisha, Chris Richardson (although Sanjaya should be there)

Going home: Chris Sligh (guy was horrible)

Though dialidol shows a different bottom 3. But they've been a little off.

Come on. You really think voting for the worst performer--or more to the point, people who don't even watch the show voting for the worst performer--is really better for the show? Better for the people watching it who enjoy it? Better for the people who are competing?

in the end what does it hurt?

You also know the producers/fox are loving it as well - hell, I wouldn't put it past them to keep him around regardless of votes just to get some more pub and discussion on a sub-par season

my god, they are sending the fat lisping guy home over the fruity no talent kid - what shall I do?!

if he makes it top 3 then maybe i'll reconsider - but at this point I don't think it's an outrage that most of these people are going home

I honestly can say that i don't mind sandjaya performing any more than watching sligh lisp his way through a song, richardson go through nasaly runs, phil stacey just butcher songs with 8 pounds of makeup under his eyes, haley has a nice rack - but honestly that's about it

i wouldn't mind seeing all 4 of those leave before sandjaya - at least it's funny watching him out there and he doesn't take himself seriously

It just proves the show jumped the shark. That's ok, even I'll admit 24 did after two mind-numbing plot leaps on Monday night, but I'll still watch it.

Sanjeioakdykedia and his fauxhawk butchering a song after Gwen looked scared to see him go out there was pretty awesome in a bad-awesome way. You could almost see that the ponytails in his hair were held with shark elastic holders. When he passes through to the next round, the comedy will be amazing.

Hell, I'm watching again to see the bloodbath...give me a Paula-cam and this show will hit an all time high on the unintentional comedy scale.

how's it hurting those that are kicked off - they still have had a butt ton of exposure, more than enough to show if they have enough talent to entice a label

did it hurt daughtry that he wasn't in the final two, did it hurt clay that he lost to ruben - hell, even pickler has an album out

on one hand I think it could be mean spirited to sandjaya to keep voting him through - on the other hand it's increasing his "fame" and if he doesn't like it he can always quit the show

MO, you know the answer to your question: It's hurting them because they would have gotten MORE exposure with MORE weeks on AI. Getting kicked off early isn't helping them.

did it hurt daughtry that he wasn't in the final two, did it hurt clay that he lost to ruben - hell, even pickler has an album out
these people were voted off in an appropriate order and benefited from weeks on the show.

on one hand I think it could be mean spirited to sandjaya to keep voting him through - on the other hand it's increasing his "fame" and if he doesn't like it he can always quit the show
Sanjaya is the ONLY person benefiting from the "manipulation." It's not about him wanting it or not wanting it.

AI is benefiting from the publicity

as stated before, if you make it to the final 12 you have all the publicity you will ever need to have a shot at a recording career

most of these people are no-hopers .... most of the true talent in this nation is already signed - i have no qualms about one no-hoper staying over another

aside from the cream of the crop it's like rating poop
