I've been coming to this place a very long time.( I think since the site went up). I don't post that much but enjoy watching the back and forth between posters. For anyone to to get so angry about anything posted is stupid, It's only words and opinions from those words. I enjoy reading Mitch and everyone else as we ponder about our team, The Cardinals.

Who will be released, who will we trade, who will we sign? What is Q , Dansby and the others doing about getting signed? What is the next video to see on ASFN. For a Cards fan this is a great site. So, enjoy, relax, disagree, fight, pout, overstate, fire the whole FO, but have FUN doing it!

5. This board is kind of like a Fellini street scene with all kinds of bizarre characters (me included) doing their thing to form a kind of back-drop for the actual plot line (which in our case is "the eternal struggle by the Cardinals to get to - and win - The Super Bowl").

Wow...that is a first. A reference to one of my favorite directors. You must be thinking Amacord or Satyricon.

Mitch,

I don't think you need to apologize for anything. You are passionate about the Cardinals and write interesting and well thought out ideas about your point of view. All of us have a breaking point. I think some people should apologize to you, but it won't happen in this forum. You are the better man. Continue to do what you're doing and try to ignore the cruel remarks. Not everyone is going to agree with you, but I agree they don't need to belittle and bash. I'll continue to read your posts and enjoy them--go Mitch!

Well, that makes one...;)

Mitch, the avatar cop, no doubt... has a problem with yours.

Yes... it's good that our board at least has one genius...

I missed the whole Mitch attack on avatars... As a fellow Greenwich-ite, I have little doubt that Mitch wouldn't appreciate my avatar!

;)

In recent weeks I have been finding it harder and harder to ignore the consistent post bashings and ad hominems that I see not only on my own posts but on others'. In the past I have done my best to gloss over such comments and ignore them...but as Red said to his fellow inmates in the Shawshank Redemption, "every man has his breaking point."

I would like to make something clear about my own posts...while I do sincerely appreciate the positive feedback I receive...that does mean a lot to me and I thank all of you who take the time to show your appreciation...the last thing I expect or want is for everyone to agree with my positions. In fact, what I love about this board is that I learn as much from you as you learn from me...we talk through the issues together and usually we find that the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

What I do object to, though, is the disrespectful tone of some of the responses. When a poster takes the time to elaborate on his/her thoughts, it seems only fitting that he/she be treated with at least a modicum of respect.

I also object to posters who never or very rarely says anything positive or inherently respectful to another poster.

Lately I have been fighting fire with fire. I am not happy doing that, and it's not in character. I have been stifling this urge for years, whether you realize it or not. Thus, I would like to offer a sincere apology to md, shane, and canuck in particular and anyone else I may have fired back at.

I am going to show better judgement from now on.

It is my greatest hope that we can all learn to respect and appreciate each other...whether we generally agree or disagree with the issues.

ASFN is special place...because of ALL of you. And I should have been more mindful and cognizant of that. Thus I hope you can pardon me for my recent indiscretions.

Peace. Mitch

Mitch you are correct. It is a sign of the times we live in. It not only happens here but throughout this land. Look at how our Congressional Committees treat people they call before them. I watched Barney Frank absolutely insult the CEO of AIG when he was called for questioning. The CEO took the job for $1 a year and had only been on the job for a few months yet Frank treated him like a criminal. I see it on TV interviews on a regular basis. Reporters like to play "gotcha". Manners and respect are disappearing as fast as our national debt is increasing. I think it is more so with the younger generations who often can be more than just abusive. Personally I try to stick to my upbringing of being civil at the least with those who I disagree. Hitting back may make you feel good for a short period but later on you will not feel so good if that is not part of your real personality. I enjoy your informed post. We have few people on the board who are as informed as you and your presence is needed. john h

You can tell that it's the "off season" by reading the board. How many threads can we have on Boldin and management? Too damn many. Now we have a thread with apologies for past threads and criticism on this, etc etc etc.

Bottom line is for training camp to get here so we can all enjoy good discussions and debates on the Cards.

This board is funny. Some people can't handle opposition of opinion very well. Recently I expressed an opposing view regarding a post (and not in a rude way) and I got a PM to "**** off, and go **** myself". I thought it was sad, but kinda funny. We all make stupid posts and have opinions that we should expect to be opposed without getting offended. To think all of our personal posts are flawless and above opposition is ignorant.

This is way too funny. I know I'm new here but you either take yourself are this way too seriously IMHO.

That isn't an apology, it's an attempt to excuse your pathetically immature rudeness and lack of class. I saw this thread and said to myself, "good stuff, Mitch is gonna man up for being somewhat of an @$$ yesterday. True sign of a good person, admitting when they're wrong." Instead it was just more insults with a nice thread title.

Please explain to me how Shane's post in this thread that said "yup" made it at all excusable for you to attack him so personally. http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/f4/obviously-to-early-power-rankings-134373.html Is that "fighting fire with fire"? You are a sad individual. Gee would have been sent packing for a week over those insults.

I would have banned Mitch for a week for that. Be sure to report stuff because I don't read every post in here.

Its always good to know when someone doesnt think you are a "decent human being."

But hey whatever. Apology accepted.

You didn't deserve that comment at all, Shane. It was displaced anger, and even though there was never any doubt, you just proved what a good man you are by being forgiving. I certainly disgraced and humiliated myself with that one. Something I thoroughly regret. Thanks for being so kind.

I feel like I missed a lot. Did somebody make fun of Mitch's St. Pierre underroos and he went postal?

I kid, I kid. :D

I was classless yesterday, md. To you, to Shane and anyone else who was in my tasteless path. My apology is sincere. Over the years I have appreciated your perspectives, and hope to ride all the way to the Lombardi Trophy with you and everyone else.

You will see...I will not be this classless again.

I am truly sorry man.

Wow...I spend less time apologizing when I am truly offensive.

Mitch, you are human...you are entitled to a little frustration. You spend a lot of time and energy on your posts. No, I don't always agree but I will never attack your opinion or your person(I may point out a subjective alternative viewpoint). The truth is...if we were all in the same room we would not have this problem. Half of these posters would stay mum because they wouldn't have a computer screen in front of them but they would have to communicate with an actual person. Stay true to yourself Mitch.

First, where in the forumn rules does it state that there is a statute of limitations on "banworthy" behavior?

Second, I always have and always will leave the moderating to the mods. If Mitch were banned, I dont even want to know what he'd do to himself. It's apparent that he needs this board much more than it needs him and I am able to recognize and ignore a loon when neccessary. These insults were not out of the ordinary for Mitch, it's absolute commonplace for him to personally attack whomever may disagree with him.
