More pissed at the alternative: Matt is better then Anderson...

Yes he is...but he has a serious mental block. It can be lack of confidence, motivation, distraction, or he is playing his way out of AZ.

Who knows......:(

Yep. I especially loved the typical witch hunt against Mitch for saying anything negative against him, and assertions that he was "trolling".

Posting two opposing views can easily be seen as trolling.

I think we all know how this is going to turn out: The media will continue to lambaste Leinart til he is beaten to a pulp, Cards will cut him and the media will celebrate the decision. Fast forward 5 years when Leinart has made two pro bowls and the media will slam the Cards for giving up on such a talent.

What did we pay for Anderson, something like 3 million? I guess we now know why...

If that is the case then--like I stated earlier in thread--why did team make all the changes to the Oline AND not go after much better QBs available than freaking DA?

It's not just the fact they didn't go after any of the QBs this offseason but he hasn't made any attempt at bringing in a legit QBOF until this draft(if you count Skelton).

If Wiz doesn't think Leinart is the guy then he's failed the team miserably by not preparing for Warner's departure.

I'm not reading too much into this. I think Leinart is still the starting QB come opening week. But who knows what Wiz is really thinking seeing as how his first QB decision as HC was to run a platoon.

I've been a big ML supporter but this move can't be good for Leinart. Whiz isn't the kind of coach that seems to play agmes with guys minds and see how they react. He plays the better guy. I think it's more telling that he also elevated Toler and Washington at the same time. These moves sound like they are definite depth chart changes. I'm no fan of DA at all but I think he's getting the nod. I hope i'm wrong but I think Whiz is letting Leinart play into the 3rd quarter to see if he's the one who makes the roster, not Anderson. If Leinart comes in listless and doesn't move the team,he probably will get released. Don't forget the Cards strong interest in trying to acquire Whitehurst in the off season. Looking back, that tells me Whiz is not enamored with Leinart and Whitehurst would be starting right now if that trade had been made.

I've already imagined the same scenario playing out many times before.

I don't think it's fair to say whose decision that was. The Bidwills have invested a lot of money (joe I'm sure can tell us how much) in Matt Leinart, not to mention the opportunity cost of passing on Jay Cutler, Haloti Ngata, Chad Greenway, etc. The Cards/Graves/Mike Bidwill would not even have to be cheap to say, "You know, we still believe this kid can be good. Let's see what we have in him. You just got a long deal."

No better than the whole offense is playing because of the play of the OL this move is just out and out blockheaded. In fact, of all of the years of being a Cardinal fan, the closest I can identify this to is the marvelous insight of Denny Green one night to run Edge at Urlacher 25 times in a game. What Leinart should have done during the Tennessee game was give the offensive line a big collective kick in their derier. His passive attitude toward the pathetic offensive line play is probably going to cost him his job.

I think you've got it backwards.

This was from Kent Somers yesterday:

- "Cards offense moves ball well in 2-minute drill. Leinart looks sharp, short passes." - Somers.

It was also reported that Whiz was yelling at Anderson for again throwing the ball too hard with no touch.

Too me this Anderson's chance to show he belongs on the team. Otherwise they cut Anderson and keep the two rookies.

The Cards only signed Anderson after Whitehurst was off the table. I'm not sure it says all that much. Whitehurst would be starting right now because Anderson wouldn't be here.

Not to say I told you so...But I told you so. ESPN...has been pretty accurate with our team the last 4 years since Whiz arrived. You guys trash ESPN left and right...but they know the talk.

This is obvious writing on the wall too. If De Anderson performs decent+ this weekend....Leinart will be released in the next week. Guaranteed....Because no way he backs up again.

For 3 years I have said Whiz hasn't liked Matt(Others here too have stated this) It should be obvious now. Because all Anderson has to do is get first downs! And Matt is more than Toast.

Whiz never gave Leinart a chance and played mind games with him the whole time dating back to the stupid alternating QB fiasco. Whiz doesn't like Matt and so the promising rookie we saw under Denny will most likely be gone very soon. The saddest part is that now we are stuck with Derek Anderson as QB. Just think about that for a minute. My God.....

SF will win the division.

Good luck in Seattle, Matt. Whiz screwed you over.

Save your "I told you so's" for opening day. Right now it's rather meaningless.

Really??? Remember when none of them thought we had a punchers chance of winning the divisional game against Carolina? Or believing that Warner was done? ESPN has a clear vendetta out for us IMO. Cardinals are not a sexy team; therefore, we get the short end of the stick. ESPN wants the 49ers to win the division to bring back the good ole days.

Campos...please stop pulling things out of your ass.

We probably shouldn't be taking this as a fait accompli. Last offseason with the Browns, Anderson was 15 for 26 with 0 TDs and 2 INTs.

In part I agree, but I also think Leinart is part to blame because he didn't "grasp the reigns" as the QB or the leader of the offense this offseason. I have no faith in DA, but Leinarts body language says he needs a change of scenery.

I don't know what to make of it and clearly neither did Somers since he clearly said he doesn't know if this permanent or just "flipping the script."

My concern is if Whiz believes Derek Anderson is our best QB, that scares me because I think Anderson is what he showed in Cleveland, a strong arm but very inaccurate and takes tons of risks out there.

I still think Matt is the better QB but I guess we'll find out what Whiz feels.

You guys say inaccurate way to often?? 56% to 66%(Warners completion rate) is 3 passes in a 30 pass attempted game. Completion rate is WAYYY overrated...unless you throw 5 yard passes all game. Im telling you....Whiz wants a deep threat passing game...And ANderson throws a good deep pass. I also think it is the reason why they just never resigned Boldin. They needed speed for deep passes. If you look at the Steelers....Whiz always threw either deep passes or trick plays alot. Leinart signed his pink slip when he threw the deep ball to Williams horrible and Anderson threaded the needle. 1 deep pass completed is worth 6 dunk passes.

Have to agree with MCD...DA has sucked consistently and we have two rooks who we don't want to get picked up off the PS... don't wanna keep 4 QBs so for DA it is do or die...seems appropriate to me, although unless ML is aware of the logic I suspect his MIND could be slightly messed up :)
