I think one thing is certiain, if DA lights it up in the 1st half , it won't matter what ML does because DA will have "seized" his oppurtunity and be the starter. Which is a scary thought.

OK, so he has two passes over 7 yards. Obviously, he should be in the HOF next to Warner. That is my mistake, so sorry for that.

He was never able to score many points and that's the problem. That's not even for a discussion. He can't score. Period. He is taken out as starter because he couldn't move the football.

Protecting the ball and playing defensively as QB, will never get you far in the modern NFL. And he made so many bad reads this preseason, even with a simply playbook as that, it's no wonder he is losing his job and will certainly get cut or traded.

The thing I have a problem with is how often does Leinart need to be tested mentally? What ever happened to putting a guy on the field & seeing if he can produce & grow with some failures. IMO Leinart has never been given that chance, like other high QB's picked in the draft have. Am I missing something?

Hey I love Whiz, but he hates him some Matt, for whatever reason.

Guess you have to take the good with the strange, I'll put my faith in Whiz until he proves otherwise.

I think this is a gigantic risk but Whiz isn't shy so we'll see.

Some of you really need to get in touch with reality NO WAY are they cutting Leinart! This is not even a demotion Whiz even said NO CHANGE of the depth chart just simply letting DA start a PRESEASON game to get some extra look at him against some ones! People are just making way to much out of this because its Leinart!

Why do so many on this board think Whiz doesn't know what he has in Leinart ?

He has been working with the guy for 3 years, and gave him the reigns TWICE during this time.

The first time he was beat out by a HOF'er.

This time he hasn't lost a job. But, he is definately sending a message that Leinart has to come out, compete, and start playing with some swagger.

I like Leinart, I believe in his potential, but he is not showing it, he is not competing. He seems very mundane, and ho - hum.

I almost would rather a 3 INT game than passing for a whopping 28 yards. Matt has to "go for it" and play with a little more aggressiveness.

You got to remember that Warner may have his 4 TD games, but he also had the 3 INT, 2 fumble games as well.

How much clearer can Whiz be ? He doesn't care about the throws as much as the attitude, and how he handles the huddle.

Where is the QB that played against the Viking in his rookie year? The guy that swaggered up to the LOS thinking he was going to win no matter what ?

He is M.I.A., IMO. IF we could find that Matt Leinart he would smoke the two guys who we got now.

If Anderson sucks then he will show it on Saturday, and the whole situation will be a huge moot point.

It is one start in a preseason game, and it is an oppourtunity that Anderson has earned, regardless of his past suck-a-tude.

Warner SUCKED in the past before he had his re-surgence....... I don't see that happening with DA, but still.

I am more shocked that all of you are suprised by this,. This isnt a decision based on 2 preseason games, Whiz has seen Leinart play for 3 years now. He didnt have confidence in him before and he doesnt now. DA will get a chnace to win the starting QB nod now.

Matt is not the QBOF here, and Whiz wont stand by becuase some fans think he "deserves the chance" to start.

Is DA the answer, of course not, but neither is Matt. Let him go now and get something for him, stick with DA this season and grab QBOF next year.

If completion % means nothing explain to me this why did every QB in the playoffs (except one--Sanchez) complete over 60% of his passes? Was it just a coincidence that 8 of the 10 worst teams in the league all had a QB completing under 60% (exceptions were Was & Jax)? Completion % is huge as is TD to INT ratio...probably the most important QB statistics.

I understand...but 3 passes in a 30 passing atts isnt alot...Im just saying that stat seems missleading when it is only 3 passes....thats all.....

I also think if ANderson throws the ball to FItz...his completion % will go up

1. Matt had 3 drives so only having 28 yards isn't to terribly bad.

2. Warner also was asked to throw it 50 times a game. If you're comparing Anderson's picks with Warner's turnovers you're never going to win. Anderson throws way less and already has 2 turnovers and 1 TD. Color me unimpressed.

Hopefully the bears defense comes to play and doesn't just let Anderson complete alot and fool our coaching staff into believing DA doesn't suck!

Well it is obvious that WHiz has never really liked Matt period. WHiz is not dumb...He just doesnt want Leinart to succeed. I mean he has been named the starter 3 times...treated with kid gloves when the media asks Whiz questions...and then ESPN or NFL network says Matt isn't going to start or play...and Boom...He doesn't....Whiz gave him no help last week...He threw him under the bus on purpose because He didnt draft him. Warner earned Whiz's respect...especially when he played a whole year with a torn elbow tendon....

Im sorry but if you guys cant read the writing on the wall....we can read it to you.

Not incredibly good either. Not enough to warrant, not giving DA an oppourtunity. Again, if we want to base giving oppourtunities on the past, then Warner never sees the field in 2008.

If Leinart can't handle it, then how will he handle it if he throws an INT, that Fitz breaks his ankle while tackling the guy, the ball is fumbled, and the defense picks it up, the Cardinals lose, and its before a bye, and etc., etc., etc. You got to be mentally tough in this league, if Leinart can't handle it, then he is doomed before he ever throws a pass.

Luckily, he can. It is ridiculous to think he cannot. He has been up against a lot more than this. He has been in this position before.

But as much as I believe in Matt, at this point in the season, he has not done enough that I could justify not given DA a chance to see what he can do. If DA truly sucks, he will show it. Just like BSP did last year during the 2nd string competition.

No actually that is not what I was getting at, at all. I was saying that, in reference to Leinart. I know Matt can spin the rock with the best of them, but he has to let it go, and play how he wants to play.

Warner didn't always listen to Whiz, or his coaches. If he saw something he went after it, Whiz be damned.

Lienart has the potential and the swagger, but not right now, and he is running out of chances to find it.

Again where is the rookie QB I saw against the Vikings ?
