when the Colorado Rockies made the World Series just because they got hot at the right time, when they DIDN'T EVEN WIN THEIR DIVISION, we didnt hear about frauds and how they were ruining the world series. we heard about wearing their alternate jersey's to not mess up their streak. STUPID STUPID STUPID

I just dont get Boston's bile

The Cardinals, regardless of division, would have been in the playoffs with their record.

If they want to direct their anger at any team -- it should be San Diego.

San Diego also played in a weak division and finished with an 8-8 record. If you want to throw out the division concept and have the best teams in each conference make the playoffs -- it was San Diego that took NE's spot, not Arizona.

This must be the first time in recorded history that a team is mad because they won and beat the spread.

Another whiny article out of New England? No, say it ain't so! Unbelievable that said region of the country cannot just man-up and face the reality that the way the league's playoffs are structured the Pats didn't measure enough to make the playoffs. Is the system perfect? No. But NO LEAGUE HAS A PERFECT SYSTEM. See the NBA playoffs, or the stupid BCS. Here's a tip, try living in the world of reality.

As for bashing the Cardinals . . . you really do yourself a tremendous disservice when all you can conjure up is one game, during which the Cardinals admittedly didn't show up, to throw your piss and vinegar all over what is shaping up as a terrific feel good story when all else around seems to be doom and gloom. Write a story about the little guy doing good? The weak rising up and finding success? When the economy is so poor and people are looking for hope and inspiration? Naw, not you, you'd rather defecate on a great story. Bravo!

Oh, and in the event you've missed it, the Cardinals have taken three terrific teams to the woodshed during the playoffs. NFL coaches typically review the season in 4 game increments. If you reviewed the Cardinals' efforts over the past 4 games you'd note their running game is averaging 115 yards per game, they have 14 takeaways, and most importantly their point differential is plus 11.5 PER GAME! They are NOT JUST a feel good story . . . they have become legit! Will they be legit when they defeat the Steelers on Sunday?

Oh, wait, all of a sudden I get it! You hate the "little engine that could" story because your juggernaut 18-0 Pats lost to the last "little engine that could" last year . . . the Giants and made your undefeated regular season a mere footnote. Hmm, now I understand who pissed in your Cheerios . . . you did it yourself.

Hope you enjoy your bitter cold northeast Sunday watching the Cardinals bask in Tampa's warmth. I know where I'll be . . . in Raymond James stadium, rooting for the feel good story of the year! SHOCK THE WORLD!

Hey NE sour pusses. Take a look at week 3 of the season. A Dolphin team that had just been pounded by the worthless Cards pounded the NE Patriots to the tune of 38 to 13. What a disgrace of a franchise to be beaten by such a pitiful team. You know the team that went 1 -15 the prior year and just lost to the lowly Cards by a score of 31 to 10.

Cry me a river about your starting QB going down or the Dolphins new wildcat offense or............... Here's the deal. You don't get to throw rocks in a glass house, you know the one you built from the camera lenses you no longer can use to CHEAT.

Well, technically, that's not true. Had they seeded the playoffs strictly by conference, the Cardinals would have missed out on tiebreakers.

That said, had the rules been different for playoff consideration, they also would have likely approached the later season games differently.

I grew up in CT.

For the MOST-part, with a few exceptions, New Englanders are mean-spirited, selfish, ...and UGLY!! Unless, of course, they're Cardinal fans! ...Or family members.. :D

You could NOT pay me ANY amount of $$ to live there!

I'll give you an example: I was Home this Christmas working at a store that sold chocolate. A middle-aged couple comes in and I smile and say, "Good Morning". "How ya' doing?" They keep their heads down looking at the chocolate. I waited about (30) seconds, re-loaded, and repeated it. She looks up at me and says with an irritated voice, "I heard you the 1st time." I'm thinking, well, IF you heard me the 1st time WHY didn't you respond??

Like I said, MEAN-SPIRITED, ARROGANT, SELF-CENTERED, and well, you get the idea.

So, ANYTHING that comes out of New England just consider the source.

My old man used to say that the reason Bostonians had such smarmy attitudes was because they actually had to live there.

(He survived an accident on the runway at Logan in the 60s and said that as he was getting out all he could think about was not wanting his obituary to say he died in Boston.)

A poster made a great point when New England douches are whining about the NFC West:

Combined record of other NFC West teams in 2008: 13-35
Combined record of other AFC East teams in 2007: 12-36

So NEW ENGLAND benefited from a worse division to rack up 16 wins in 2007...

LOL. This stuff just makes me laugh at this point.

HAHAHAHA Sorry Boston. You beat us on ice skates. Good for you. We are in the Super Bowl and your franchise player has a shredded knee.

Enjoy the view from the snow b----'s!

If Clippers made it to the NBA Championships, I would be tempted to be appalled THAT owner enjoyed any success, but I still wouldn't be able to muster the abject hate that accompanies all of these articles about the Cardinals.

How can you hate a team that's been so bad for so long? The concept eludes me.

Lloyd -- my understanding is that at 9-7 the Cardinals would have been the last NFC wildcard team -- tied with TB and Dallas but winning on a tiebreaker

Mr. Priece,

I agree that it is amazing the Patriots didn’t make the playoffs. I mean 11-5 !?!? How can they have missed it ? Granted the AFC East, played the easiest schedules in the league versus the AFC west, and NFC west, and that could have made those AFC East records look a little bloated. And the fact the two playoff teams the Patriots faced this season, beat the Patriots handily. A fluke is your team even being 11-5.

But in all seriousness. The Cardinals' presence in the Super Bowl is fluky and disgraceful. WTF? I mean WTF is that junk. I have seen your resume, you are not some shock journalist hack. This is junk. Your stupid Boston team loses out on the playoffs and you dis-respect another organization like that ? It is not too long ago your city had its only fluky football team that made it to the Superbowl. 1985 ring a bell ? I would expect this junk from your Carrot Top looking freak of a journalist in Boston but not you.

After reading that I say (not happy birthday) sir. Fudge you, your stupid cowboy hat, your coca-cola glasses, your fat disgusting body, and that my momma drank too much when she had me face. That is not journalism. That is a hack job calling out for some attention. Well, you got it.

Seriously, all of the playoff seeding and whining out of the AFC needs quit already. Why is sooo much attention given to a team not even in their own conference?

WTF are they not complaining about San Diego and the AFC west???!?!?!
They were 8-8 and had to win 4 straight just to get into the PO's..

What?
The thing about that game in new england that eats at their soul more than anything is the fact Whis had the balls to treat them as an after thought. He pulled starters, he ran plays just to see how they would work, he played a preseason game in week 15.

That is what they can't stand about this whole situation.

Terrific response. Keep letting these Sonsofbitches have it. Your responses have been some of the my favorite posts on this board ever. And there is some great writing around here so its really saying something.
