As awful as the Monday Night Meltdown was (and it was horrendous), it was also one of the highest rated and entertaining games in a long while. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cards get a prime time game next season. Hopefullly with a better ending.

They're always entertaining. I mean how often do you get to watch a field goal missing contest in an overtime Monday Night Game or get to watch a team's coach walk off the field before the games over at Christmas or watch a team score 23 points and lose without giving up an offensive TD?

At least us old guys can remember that the Cardinals were responsible for Don Merideths "Turn out the Lights" singing on Monday night. He started that gem the night the Cards beat Dallas 38-0. But that was 37 years ago and the Cowboys ended up playing in the SuperBowl and the Cards didn't even make the playoffs but I digress...

I'm excited, but at the same time, I'm also cautious.

Let's be honest-- Grimm is here one, maybe two years tops. With him being a hot coaching commodity RIGHT NOW, if Arizona does anything worth a pound of salt in 2007, he and Ron Rivera's name will be right at the top of every coaching wishlist come 2008. So, in all honesty, I see this being a GOOD hire, but a temporary one at that.

Also, the draft and free agency will heavily dictate how excited I get over this team in 2007. Say what you will about Denny, the guy had an incredible eye for talent. I also respect Rod Graves's talent evaluation skills, but I've still got question marks from his last draft-- the Pace, BJ fiasco.

I'll take a wait and see approach. I've been overly optimistic before and wound up with a sour taste in my mouth within five games.

First of all Its Bidwill. Second of all Im not crying, Have you sweated your balls off for 15 years in a college stadium? Have you brawled till your knuckles are raw because of a football team that doesnt even know that you are out there taking critisism for them everyday? As you quoted "go join the Pats board cause we need every fan we can get"? Obviously you dont know me or have not met me so I will just shrug off your comments just like any other person that cares to talk about things they dont know **** about. BTW welcome to the board newbie.
Yes, it is on Bidwill. No i haven't had the privelige of watching them play at home not even once in my life. i have however attended every away game agianst the redskins since i moved to washington in '84 and all of the away games against baltimore as well as a few games in philly. You've been fighting people that live in the team's homestate. no doubt you had a couple supporters buddy. I would like to see you come bring your internet tough guy attitude to philly and root for the cards there. Your knuckes wont be what is bleeding when a whole section of the stadium jumps you. Furthermore you misquoted me, read and think before you type next time. my intention was not to offend you, but to bring your morale back up about the team. but let me assure you that i have been crying over these damn cardinals since you were rooting for whoever was your favorite team before they came to 'zona

almost forgot, i was mdcardsfan and before that was zonaguy but switched my name when i got new email and new pc--been here since '02 buddy

dont take anything personal boss everyone on this site wants the same thing
and i look forward to being at the stadium to watch them be at home for the superbowl this year. it will be the first time in history i will have more than to guys to help fight after the game

Do you always have to bring religion into your football posts? I get it, you dont believe in Christ. Good for you. I dont post in the Religion section of this board for a reason. .

Hey - I don't ALWAYS - but when it comes to the subject of the irrational faith and loyalty I have to the Cardinals, religion is the closest analogy I know.
Your point is taken and I will research some OTHER religions for comparison when it comes to faith and the Cardinals.

If we draft Joe Thomas, I'll let the Kool Aid loose. Until then, I'll wait and see.

I don't get excited over the off-season anymore; I know it's essentially meaningless at this point to get excited during the offseason. I can understand others optimism, the moves look decent so far, but I often see that the Cardinals moves forward seem to address surface publicity issues and seem to coincide with some weird caveat that no one recognizes until it is exposed when it counts.

For all we know the coaching budget will impact the player budget. Then is the off-season really productive, I think there is a lot to sit back and evaluate.

The religious comparison I always make concerning the Cardinals is with Moses.

Just like him the Cardinals have been wandering lost in the desert for many years.

Every year in the offseason we get what appears to be Manna from Heaven but by November it turns out it was just bird droppings.

So by that logic, we'll have to be wondering in the desert for forty years. Looks like we're almost half way done!

I should be ESTATIC about the coaching changes of Whiz and Grimm but for some reason im not. I beleive they are great choices and will make a difference but having my hopes up EVERY offseason for 19 years has kinda numbed me to getting excited in the offseason this year. I am sick of being let down by the orginzation and the whole Denny Green thing really took the optimisim out of me. Can for once we have a winning season here in AZ with these new changes? or is it gonna be same ol same ol?
i have to agree with everything u said. I know getting to exicted till the end of next season.

Yeah, this is the first year since I started watching this team that I'm beaten down this far after our season is over. Sure I would be beaten down during the season but I would always find a way to get back up. I still consider myself a koolaid drinker but I just can't get that, "Whatever, we're still the Cardinals", out of the back of my head. I do think that the latest moves have been great though.
