Actually I read it again it wasn't Gershon it was a UA fan who posts on BRO that said Trier is gone regardless.

Gershon said Leaf is expected to go pro and Ike has 2 teams who've told him they will pick him in the first round if he lasts to their pick. I thought the NBA made a rule against such promises but that's what he implied.

If they lose Ball, Leaf, Hamilton, Alford and Ike.

Could be another rough year for Alford. Might need to give back another year of his contract.

It was interesting listening to Dan Dakich saying Archie was their #1 target all along. A lot of "insiders" were wrong about Alford going back home.

I said that all along although I think Donovan was their #1 but they found out quickly he wasn't taking it

Apparently Trier has been dealing with a sinus infection for the past week. He was seen coughing and rubbing his nose during the tournament and apparently sounded pretty bad in interviews. Man he's had some horrible luck with the suspension this year and the broken hand last year. I couldn't blame him at all if he bolted regardless of the projected draft grade.

I was pretty sure he was sick you could see him coughing and sneezing during the game.

Tough to play with a sinus infection I used to get them constantly(had sinus surgery) and when you can't breathe through your nose it's pretty tough to do anything strenuous let alone play college hoops.

So not surprised at all he was sick.

let's just hope whatever meds he took for it were allowed (-:

Press conference tomorrow regarding those declaring for the NBA

Sounds like Kobi and Markk are declaring and hiring an agent, while Trier and Alkins are declaring w/o hiring an agent.

EDIT: just Lauri declared

I was just spitballing this idea earlier but looks like a legit possibility. Pony up the cash.

Romar is an awful coach. Just say no to that hire.

His best role would be as assistant. He can focus on recruiting and offensive strategies instead of running a program. Plus he's the opposite of Miller's hyper intense personality which I think can make the players uptight at times.

Would be a home run hire.

As a head coach, yes. But working under Miller is basically doing what he says. Assistants normally have little impact on what happens on the court. Their best contributions are recruiting and some scouting.

Romar is a hell of a recruiter and would definitely give Arizona a bigger reach along the Pacific coast, especially in Seattle. Additionally, he would help tilt the scales with recruits that are deciding between Arizona and blue bloods like Kentucky and Kansas.

This would unequivocally be a home run hire for Arizona.

Daejohn Davis would probably come to UA.

One wonders how long before UA would see if they can get Michael Porter Sr and Jr. he can't sign 2 NLI's so UW releasing him means he's a complete free agent. if they were willing to go to UW to play for Romar(and the dad) you'd think they'd be willing to go to Arizona.

He probably wouldn't do much long term for Arizona in recruiting seeing as he's likely here one or two years max. Unless they win a title which would help recruiting in general...

I like it more for the offense and it just seems like players like him. It'd be a nice mix with Miller's personality.

Romar and Miller are friends and coached together for Team USA. 1-2 years is all we need. He could help out with the recruitments of Duval, Bagley, et al

Both those guys will probably burn their schools for going overseas. Still worth it though.

If Trier goes pro possibly getting Daejon Davis would be big. He's rated below Randolph on every service except Rivals.

Amazing the love you guys have for Romar. If the guy does nothing and is just a name that is one thing. But there will be a lot of people cheering for that hire: Washington fans.

Sorry but you're misinformed. I guarantee Oregon and UCLA fans aren't rooting for this to happen.

His job will be recruiting moreso than coaching. He developes guards pretty well too.

Yes the dad has reportedly agreed to join Missouri but unless he's got a firm contract already it doesn't matter. And the kid it doesn't matter at all, you can't sign more than one NLI so he's a free agent until classes start.

This was discussed a few days ago on FS1, the guy there said people trying to hire Romar as a head coach were doing so in part because they thought they could get Davis and Nowell, but also thoguht it possible they could get Porter.

My guess is if UA hires him they'll get Davis and possibly Nowell. Porter seems more up in the air.

Yeah if he brings Davis and Nowell with him it's great, if he somehow gets Porter, it's Calipari leaving Memphis for UK
