In the end, it appeared as if winning the PAC 12 Tournament was a must. In essence, UCLA and Oregon were punished by being 3 seeds in the two most challenging brackets. It really is hard to complain about our bracket. Two WCC teams, geographically friendly (every game should be 80%+ Arizona fans), and other teams that Arizona seemingly matches up well against.
Arizona needs to take care of its own business and it'll be fine.
That was the general feeling on BRO if UCLA wins the conf tourney they will get a 2 in the West and that's the desired outcome. I think Oregon is more punished because of Boucher being hurt than losing to UA though, they'd likely still be a 2 if they had Boucher.
I think the UA fans are going to be happy too a quick look online says tickets for San Jose are slightly cheaper than Sacramento for better seats. I'm trying to get tickets to Fri/Sun in Sac through my girlfriends sister, their neighbor often gets great tix, but so far seems unlikely I'll be able to go. I have friends who bought tix to San Jose hoping UCLA would be there and are now probably going to try and sell them to Arizona fans so they can go to Sac instead.
I think the toughest matchups in the West for you are West Virginia due to style of play, and Notre Dame. I think it was the Cal game where they were pressing UA late in the game and it worked quite well, really seemed to bother Arizona. I don't think Trier played in that one and he's a better ballhandler than Simmons but that press from WVU could be an issue. ND is just so hard to guard they spread you out so much with their shooting.
But I agree UA has the "easier" draw but that's the benefit of winning the tourney.
