Chandler Jones specifically cited Vance Joseph’s proclivity to drop him into coverage as a prime example of how he was being misused.
Can’t argue with CJ on that pointChandler Jones specifically cited Vance Joseph’s proclivity to drop him into coverage as a prime example of how he was being misused.
I can't even imagine what Zach Allen thinks about VJ. Lol.Chandler Jones specifically cited Vance Joseph’s proclivity to drop him into coverage as a prime example of how he was being misused.
Always an exuse when a key player fails and usually never his faultChandler Jones specifically cited Vance Joseph’s proclivity to drop him into coverage as a prime example of how he was being misused.
I hope CJ does sign there, because they'll have to massively overpay and he's just not that good any longer. Certainly not worth the money he'll command.Apparently, the rumors are the rams are going after chandler Jones and Bobby Wagner.
Do you go to the butcher to order a wedding cake? Of course not. Why would you expect a pass rusher to be able to drop into coverage and excel?Always an exuse when a key player fails and usually never his fault
Yes jones is talented but hes pretty ehhhh in key gms like cards gem lol qb murray
Ehhhhh if jones leaves
That's like 4 people in the NFL.I really, really do not want Reddick at anything more than $12m. Yes, he racked up some decent stats but he's not a traditional edge rusher.
He's a slightly better Devon Kennard who we signed to the deal we all want out of on the back of a 7 sack season with a crappy Lions team. Reddick is the same players. He's a guy that get's sacks when the QB holds the ball too long or he's up against some slow 2nd string tackle.
He's not, and is never going to be, a guy you can say "Go beat Trent Williams and win the game for us".
What u guys think bout bobby wagner?
Cards are 1 of top 3 teams intrested
How is wagners inj speed recently?
Not excel but atleast make few plays in late seasonDo you go to the butcher to order a wedding cake? Of course not. Why would you expect a pass rusher to be able to drop into coverage and excel?
made us all crazyChandler Jones specifically cited Vance Joseph’s proclivity to drop him into coverage as a prime example of how he was being misused.
I was all in for tradingA lot of people disagreed when I said we should trade Chandler Jones last off season. I bet many here wish we had now.
Outside of the Titans he was pretty poor and especially bad vs the run. And now he's walking away for nothing.
I agree about trading, but Mack is significantly better against the run.A lot of people disagreed when I said we should trade Chandler Jones last off season. I bet many here wish we had now.

2nd and a 5th would have been good no? Possibly more considering Macks cap hit is so much higher.

So did Chandler Jones but that's not going to deter teams from pursuing him. Offenses keyed their schemes around him which helped Brian Burns on the other side. I would have liked to have him back as we got a glimpse of what he could do when properly used instead of having him try to read and react as an ILB, once he was let loose to rush passer he took off. Nobody wanted to give him a multi year deal but from what I understood ARZ made no offer but if a one year $8M was what it would have took to keep him at least one more year on a prove it basis then that is a blunder, its not like he played on a one year franchise tag. Most here said that his play had gone down considerably in the second half of the season, and I can't remember any serious calls to re-sign him.
It's not like he dogged it here, he was moved to a position he never played. A one year deal would have been worth the risk as it would have given you another year to see if his breakout year was a fluke and keep him to replace Jones this year whether with a multi year deal or franchise tag. There is no end to the what-ifs.
If we knew what we know today, we'd have picked up Haason's fifth-year option, and then signed him to a longer deal.
Point is, however, there was no one who thought that was a good idea at the time, and even after his breakout season, Haason had his doubters throughout the League.
No thanks. What u guys think bout bobby wagner?

It's a lot less about what the player does well and more about surprising the offense with the scheme. Some teams do it, but few teams do it well. The Steelers under Labeau (sp?) did it a lot and did it very well. Harrison used to drop into coverage just like Chandler. The difference is in how well you scheme and execute. Clearly we sucked at it. It can work--that's how Allen got his INT, remember?Do you go to the butcher to order a wedding cake? Of course not. I think I was against it but can't remember anymore.
Aren't we likely to get a 3rd round pick for him next year? Provided we don't sign someone (similar contract) to replace him?
Maybe that was Keim's way to force VJ's hand to play Simmons, same as he released Hicks a few days ago. What's De'Vondre Campbell's situation? Should have never lost the guy to begin with. Sheeez. I was not happy when we declined to bring him back. The tape doesn't lie, and he was more than effective for us. That's firmly on Keim and VJ in my opinion.
Where he was drafted to do.Bring him in to play ILB

You mentioned he isn't worth $17M but the key thing you are missing is people are speculating that was what his deal could be, no one thought after his 12.5 season here he would sign a deal for less than $10M but that's what he ended up doing and having another double digit sack year. No one knows how much he'll get until free agency begins.
