Meanwhile both LA and Colorado are locked up in tie games... LA & Philly heading into the 13th inning. Man I'd love to see that thing go 20 innings!!

Colorado is done. Down by 3 in the 10th.

These next week it’s going to be critical If the Diamondbacks are within striking distance of a playoff berth then they should be buyers but if they fall apart or if the Dodgers surge and they should think about becoming Sellers

Plus every game counts a win or a loss in July is just as critical as those in September

The trade deadline is quickly approaching. Candidly, I expected this team to crap the bed in the second half of the season and therefore would be major sellers. But, as always, this team is doing things that make the matter quite confusing and unclear...

Diamondbacks' Jon Jay: Back on bench
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Jay is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Cubs.

Jay was included in the starting nine in the first two games of the series and came through with a base hit, triple and sacrifice fly in Tuesday's 5-1 win. The 33-year-old is reaching base at a respectable .343 clip for the season, but his lack of power makes him an optimal fit as a fourth outfielder than a regular starter. It appears the Diamondbacks concur, as Steven Souza, who has been heating up at the plate of late, has unseated Jay as the team's preferred option in right field.

Diamondbacks' Jake Lamb: Out against left-hander
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Lamb is not in the lineup against the Cubs on Wednesday.

As expected with a southpaw (Jon Lester) on the mound, Lamb will take a seat on the bench in favor of Chris Owings at third base. Look for him to return to the lineup for Thursday's series finale against right-hander Tyler Chatwood.

It was interesting that Bert and BB were talking about Lester's hangup with pickoff or comebacks throws to the bases, including mentioning how he runs half way to 1B and underhands it ... without mentioning that our Godley is doing the exact same thing.
