It's only 2-0 against a terrible Mets team but it also feels like the Diamondbacks are already out of this game. This has to be the worst offense in baseball and there does not seem to be any hope for it to improve with this line-up. Btw, JD Martinez is crushing it with the Red Sox. It's early but he is in contention to winning the Triple Crown.

DeGrom at 94 pitches. Will they let him go another inning, or pinch-hit this inning?

DeGrom only needed six pitches. Three batters swinging at first pitch. Idiots

We didn't stand a chance vs. deGrom, even if we knew how to hit -- correction, make contact.

Ah, just in time to watch the Mercury home opener on TV. I'll be at Game 3 center court next Wednesday.

Goldy struck out 4 times today.
He's not the only one whiffing at pitches. But it's definitely time for the masses to stop referring to Goldy's lack of hitting, going back to last season, as a slump.

As someone posted recently, he needs a rest (of more than one game). With the D-backs insisting keeping on keeping Ahmed at SS (except for today's day off), that will send Descalso to the bench. He can play 1B. So can Avila, but his strikeouts are just as plentiful as Goldy's. He needs a rest himself as lead Catcher.

Let's hope that shaking up the batting order vs. the Mets is the first step to pro-active changes -- and ones that are for more than one game.

Diamondbacks' Steven Souza: To require MRI on right pectoral
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Souza was forced to leave Friday's game with right pectoral discomfort and will undergo an MRI, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

A strain in the same right pectoral kept Souza out of action from March 21 through May 4. Souza indicated he didn't think this was as bad as the first injury, but it's still worrying that the issue is flaring up merely two weeks after his return to action. The Diamondbacks will likely delay a decision on whether or not he will go on the disabled list until the results of Saturday's MRI come back.

Today could be the day the dbacks lose their lead in the division. Colorado is only behind a half a game and the way this team is playing, doubt they will win another game anytime soon.

It was fun while it lasted. I see that we have another anemic batting order today (the platoon vs. a lefty starter) with only Peralta and pitcher Corbin showing decent batting averages. The other seven are at .231 or below, led by 3rd string Catcher Murphy.

The reality is that Goldy is our leader, but look where he has led us. I wish the Front Office would address the issue and share with the fans what they intend to do. We need to hear something positive from someone about their intentions, rather than hiding behind the meaningless words "slump" or "I suck".
