The D-backs wrap up the three-game series with the A's, and a nine-game road trip, on Sunday afternoon with Zack Greinke on the mound for a 1:05 p.m. MST start against Frankie Montas. Greinke took the loss in his last outing when he allowed four runs -- all of which came via three home runs -- over six innings against the Brewers at Miller Park. Greinke is 3-0 with a 2.70 ERA in nine games (six starts) at the Oakland Coliseum.

Montas is the A's worst starting pitcher and the DBacks have no hits and 6 SO through four.

"________________ flied out in his last at-bat." Or "_________________ struck out in his last at-bat."

I am getting so tired of hearing it. A ball coming in at 90 mph at somewhat of a horizontal plane and you try to meet it at exactly the perfect point and the perfect angle to hit it vertically.

What the hell should we expect? All of the A's runs this series have come on solo HR's, but they are an American League team and, with the designated hitter, there is no comparing the NL with the AL.

If only Lovullo had the insight and gones to say, "Line drives. I want to see line drives." But, noooooo. Macho is more important than winning.

Zack Greinke has issued back to back walks. He has thrown 94 pitches. No one warming herein the 6th.

And, he gives up a single to promptly fall behind again. It's very painful to watch this team right now.

The two walks followed three consecutive strikeouts. Then a single to drive in the run. 2-1 A's.

Greinke had called Mathis out to the mound. I wondered what that was about. 'Didn't help.

It’s not a 7th inning until a Chafin gives up a walk. Jeeez.

Time to start making up trades.

How about Corbin, Greinke and Tomas to the Yankees for a case of beer?

I would take a bologna sandwich for them. Plain. No condiments, that would be expecting too much. And, I would throw in Goldy for half of a smoke.

Gotta be approaching alltime historical levels of ineptitude. I mean, by any and ALL offensive measures, this team has to be historically bad, no??

Well, I actually would not be in favor of them trading Corbin or Greinke. It's not like pitching is our problem. We are pitching well enough to contend.

I believe that Corbin, who is from New York, is going to be a free agent. Why would the Yankees trade for him? Their plan is to just sign him.

And Greinke is not worth what he is being paid. He came here, vs. staying in L.A. or going to San Fran, only because he wanted to be the ace.

Especially with a few years having gone by, he is certainly not more now than he was then -- a #2 on a contending team.

And, with Greinke's personality disorder, he is not a good candidate to be on the East Coast. Randy Johnson can tell you that.

Fans on the West Coast and Phoenix are a lot more laid back.

I’m just throwing “It” against the wall but the Yankees are tittle contenders.

They’re gonna be buying pitching.

That exactly what I was thinking. Get him for the playoff run and sign him to a long term contract. It is the Yankees.
