Ginkel gives up the lead off hit and then a steal. No outs. Not looking good. Guess DBacks were happy with 2 of 3.

You can’t plan on winning many games if you only score 2 runs.

We had a chance in the second to score more runs and many other bass runners out there

Hopefully Marte is in the lineup tomorrow and Moreno comes soon because we need their bats

The loss of Gurriel is massive... Heading to Houston, which will be extremely tough, they will play games 33, 34 and 35 over the last 37 days. That would challenge even the Dodgers... but with all of the injuries this team is dealing with, that many games over such a compressed stretch takes a toll.
Hazen has done an incredible job trying to build depth. However, back-ups and rookies forced into everyday action will eventually play like back-ups over a prolonged stretch.

Guys like Walker, Kelly and Rodriguez - though back, will still take time to round into form...Is there enough time in the regular season to allow for this? And the same will be true for Marte and Gabby when they return. You just don't pop off an extended visit to the IR and instantly play at your highest level.
21 games left...At a minimum, the Dbacks will have to go 11 & 10 over that stretch. That would put them at 90 wins for the year and even then, it very well might not be good enough!

Torey must have gone to bullpen management school with Wile E. Coyote. Everything seems to blow up on him - except when the DBacks are up by more than 5 runs or down by more than 5 runs.

Can’t win in the postseason with a bullpen this atrocious. That’s gotta get fixed this offseason.

That being said, considering the injuries, this has been a pretty damn good follow up to a really unexpected World Series run and a building block on top of that run for the future.

The offense has been fantastic this year, the pitching (both starting and relieving) has been underwhelming.

We have 3 different relievers crapping the sheets right now which is a death knell for the stretch run. Of course the Mets and Braves have upcoming series vs scrub teams while we’re in Houston.

Kelly and Rodriguez have missed virtually the entire season. Gallen missed 2+ months.
As for the relivers, no question we have serious issues there. But somehow, with all of that going on and more, this team has 79 wins and is currently in the second WC slot.
Not too shabby!

Houston is once again the best of the AL West. Padres get to play the Giants at home. If the DBacks can win 2 of 3, that would be massive. DBacks really missed a solid chance at the sweep today. Torey still has his training wheels on when it comes to bullpen management.
