Getting Souza back might help with the run production.
Not so fast, Kemo Sabe. :)

He is still aching and his anticipated return is being delayed. But, of course, thanks to our excellent starting and relief pitching, it won't be as bad as in the past.

This is not a problem for me. Good pitching beats good hitting. Still early though. Getting Souza back might help with the run production. This team scored a lot of runs last year even before they got JDM. There’s no reason they should be any worse this year.

Yeah, I'm not saying we wont produce runs seeing as Goldy is in a major slump and Souza and Lamb are on the DL, but it'd be refreshing if the team would show signs of hitting the ball. The team BA is .237, which is rather disappointing.

Avila shouldn't hit higher than 7th. Already cost us another run with a strikeout.

The problem with Goldy is he's not swinging the bat. He's taking too many pitches to hit. We can't have our biggest bat be overly patient. He's going up there like he's the pitcher hoping to draw a walk. Glad we have other guys stepping up right now.

Corbin was pitching a terrific game until he lost his control in the 6th. This is where my concern with the offense comes into play

Why to get back in with back to back doubles.

Again, Goldy not swinging at the easiest pitches to hit.

DBacks absolutely blew a great chance top of the 7th. Yes, they tied it up, but stranded a man at third with only one out. Pollock and Owings sucked out, big time.

And then a horrible throw by Avila.

Avila... yeesh. Even tho it wasn’t a great throw, Marte still needs to knock that down. They had a similar play like that earlier in the game with a poor throw and Marte not being able to knock it down.

If we get to the 5 spot I hope we pinch hit Peralta for Avila.
