Yada Yada Yada, sorry, I am going to enjoy the biggest home win in ASU history against archrival smug and ever so cocky #2 Arizona. That game was huge and the block at the end was absolutely amazing. Great job Sun Devils, keep 'em coming.

And by the way, I told you guys early on Marshall was going to be a huge help and just got the usual pessimistic crap back. Sure he had some dry spots last night, but his 29 points carried us.

Haha, you disappeared from this board for two months like every other ASU fan did. The 'I told you so' comments are pretty comical.

What a great game! Sloppy at times, but what an incredible finish. Jermaine Marshall is so clutch, he needs to get the ball more often near the end. Bachynski is a top level shot blocker, he crushed that weak shot attempt near the end. Jahii Carson is a great player but needs a little more movement and screens from his teammates. UA has a good defense, but their offense looked really poor.

Good to see on the frontpage of espn.com:

He makes a huge difference... However, the difference in talent between the Devils and UofA was so clear to see... And yet, the Devils just wouldn't be denied the W. Bachinski was huge. Carson had a terrible game. Really, no other Devil played well other than Bachinski and Marshall. And even Marshall disappeared - literally - for most of the OT...

The offense made marshall disappear. Yes Rondae did a great job but Jahii is just dribbling around every time downcourt so Marshall just sat there in the corner. Crazy offense ASU is all dribble, UA is all moving screens by Tarc.

Big win though creates a little drama in the conference although UCLA probably loses to Utah today and creates a 2nd place tie again ending the drama.

Carson got really lucky, that should have been a T, should have just dribbled out the clock

Just to be clear, you are an Arizona fan posting on the Arizona State forum. Right, I understand your bias. I wouldn't even show up today if I were an Arizona fan.

Dead serious. This more or less insured Sendek's return and means yet another decade of no one caring about ASU basketball.

I normally think you're a terrific poster, but this is silly. Unless ASU totally crapped out this year, Sendek was coming back next year for sure.

We have a brand new AD and Sendek has money and years left on his deal, it was unlikely send would be shown the door at the end of this year.

You're right next year will almost assuredly be brutal, and after that, it'll be easy for ASU to show Herb the door or hint to him that he's going to be fired so he can leave w/ out having to be fired like he did at NCSU.

I was hoping he would do that. I saw flashes of impending disaster as soon as he left his feet...and it was avoided only by an inch or so.

Not posting doesn't mean I disappeared. There just usually isn't much conversation going on in this forum. Glad you like my comments. Marshall drilled your team last night, would have been nice to have him on the Court when we played in Tucson.

Herb was told he'd get an extension if he made the Tournament this year so in that regards this was a pyhrric victory for you. I tell ya what, beating ASU in football in '11 was hilarious but if I had to go back in time I'd tell the team to take a dive so that Erickson wins the Pac-12 South and earns a nice long extension. Gadd's referring to the big picture.

By whom? Cause if it wasn't Anderson, it don't matter for squat.

The athletic director at almost every school including ASU has several people that he answers to. Not limited to but mostly includes the school President and a group of major boosters. Not extending Herb basically means firing him as his already marginal recruiting will take a bigger hit. Basically ASU prefers not going through that process and expense of firing and hiring a coach any time soon while they are dialing for stadium dollars.

Which would be a more than acceptable trade off to most ASU fans.

The only thing that could have made that win better was if U of A was still #1. Freaking awesome win.

You fans down south take losing so lightly.

Eh, I think you ASU fans think it was bigger than it really was..

And for the record, Im not from the Tucson.. Im from good ole Glendale.. Westside PHX.. As a lot of UofA fans are :D

I'd be happy if ASU beat UA even at tiddlywinks. A lot has changed from my perspective over the years. I used to respect UA, their fans and most of their coaches (sans Darrell Mudra). Now the bitterness of the fan rivalry has ruined it for me. I remember a day way back when, when the fans and I in Sun Devil Stadium cheered UA for beating Ohio State in Columbus the same day the Sun Devils were beating Wisconsin in football in Tempe. Where has that gone?

Real rivalries in college sports NEVER cheer for the rival, no matter the circumstances.

Disagree, I was cheering for the Cats to beat Oregon because I thought it would benefit the Devils. I'm pretty sure it did. Even though they got spanked by Stanford they still took in the revenue from an extra home game.

It was the WAC versus the Big Ten the day I mentioned. The Sun Devils and UA were in the same boat that day (David vs. Goliath) and I cheered for the State and both teams to win. I sometimes wonder if a rivalry cannot be held with respect for both teams. That's the way I would like it. IMO, the coaches can help improve the relations between the two schools. The sad thing is, I don't think the fans want a friendly rivalry.

Prime example of why ASU-UofA is not a real rivalry.

You are certainly entitled to root for whoever you want to root for. Just don't be upset when great rivalries, like Mich-Ohio St, Alabama-Auburn, Texas-Texas A&M, etc are discussed and the ASU-UofA rivalry never gets mentioned among the great rivalries in college sports.
