It ended the game because after the T shots it was a 10 point game. ASU still has the edge without that call but it's a huge swing from potentially a 3 point game, to a 10 point game and ASU gets the ball. And USC got called for more fouls than ASU did and had 2 starters foul out, hard to claim USC was getting calls the whole game. I thought it was relatively well called until that bad charge on Hackett, just like the UCLA game was consistently reffed, not a single charge in the game until the bad one on DC.
I happen to think ASU is a very good team, that zone is murder to play against. But I heard a lot of complaining from fans last year when UCLA got breaks to beat Stanford and Cal back to back, so I would expect those same people to be able to admit ASU got 2 massive breaks on bad charge calls that wiped out potential 3 point plays.
ANy chance USC had to win ended with that call, if you know anything about Tim Floyd you KNEW he was going to get a T there, 2 surprised me but why not he knew the game was over at that point.
The Pac 10 refs have been doing this all year, UW shooting 40+ FT's in consecutive wins then UA beats them shooting 51 FT's. I just hate to see games decided like that, I actually wanted ASU to win(I hate Tim Floyd) but not that way.
