The Wolves waive Greg Stiemsma. I think he would be a good get as a backup center especially if the Suns eventually trade Gortat.

Stiemsma played for Boston in his rookie season (year before last) so I imagine McD will know whether he's worth serious consideration.

Where are the Clippers putting everyone. Seemingly they have a 21 man roster.

Free agent Antawn Jamison and the Clippers are making progress in talks on a one-year contract, league sources tell Y! Sports. No deal yet.

I remember Stiemsma being a good shot blocker, but not much else. McDonough was also there when the Celtics decided not to re-sign him.

In other news, apparently Fredette is being made available along with Chuck Hayes in order to clear cap space for Ellis. If it didn't cost much (no first round picks) then I would make that trade. But the Suns don't really have roster spots to add more players. There's one spot open (out of 15), not counting Lee or the second-rounder.

@daldridgetnt: RT @KevinDing: Sweet a guy as he is, @MettaWorldPeace will be waived via amnesty by Lakers to save about $30 million, barring some late change.

wouldn't be surprised if he ended up in Miami for cheap. Came down to Cleveland and LA back when Metta signed. If Bron still wants him, he'll probably get him to fill the old man, dirty player, occassional 3 ball shooter role that Battier plays.

I can hear the Laker brass now, "Well, we didn't get Dwight Howard signed, but at least we signed Chris Kaman!"

I can hear the Laker fans now, "Well, this is why we didn't sign Dwight Howard, we preferred Chris Kaman anyway!"

Kaman has the balls to be part of the Laker dynasty!

I'm sure Shaq was just about to say the same thing. I wish he and all the sour-grape Laker fans would just get over themselves. Does anyone else find it pathetic that Shaq is still obsessing over the possibility that people might love Howard more than him? It's not going to happen Shaq, grow up and find something else to obsess about. Maybe you should write a song about your butt and Kobe's tongue, that stuff always goes over well.

After we get rid of Gortat and Scola Chuck Hayes would be a good dirt worker for us. I don't recall him being an outstanding defender but he was good and a good rebounder. He scored little but he passed very well for a big and didn't turn the ball over. A nice solid guy coming off the bench. Fredette, I can live without.

1 year deal.

Keeps in line with what they want to do.

I would have rather signed a worse player than Caveman though.

Shaq was surprisingly right about Dwight, more than anyone else.

The Pelicans reach a two year deal with Anthony Morrow. It seems like the Suns are reluctant to bring any more players on board unless they have a trade up their sleeves.

Which is good news. There really isn't any F.A. that meet the team needs. That and they already have a full roster. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be any teams in need of Gortat. At least not any that are going to give us much for him (or have much to give). Starting to believe this will be the roster they go to camp with, but I'm hoping we see a few trades by the deadline after giving some time to feature the Vets. I haven't heard any news regarding Johnson, wonder if they have any plans to bring him back?

The Lakers and 5 other teams got their luxury tax bills for the past season. They Lakers' tab was just shy of $30 million. Non taxpaying teams are expected to receive about $1.5 million a piece. With the punitive tax kicking in next year, the Nets are expected to pay $75 million in taxes. Wow! They had better win a championship.

Howard leaving the Lakers can be summarized in one sentence: "Kobe Bryant is a massive *enter explicit word*. "

Poor Steve Nash, he probably has to endure 2 more seasons of being treated as a waterboy by Kobe in the locker room.

Teague is younger and about as good as Dragic so how does that make Dragic a bargain? Dragic gets basically the same money and incentives to get more.

Teague 25 , 14.6ppg 7.2apg 2.3rpg 1.5spg 45%FG 32mpg
Dragic 27, 14.7ppg 7.4apg 3.1rpg 1.6spg 44%FG 33mpg

Brandon Jennings probably thought he deserved a near max contract, now his own team has replaced him and most teams have spent their cap space. Gotta wonder where he ends up. Might have to endure the ultimate embarrassment of accepting the Bucks qualifying offer... unless they plan on rescinding it now that they've signed Teague.

The Hawks can still match the offer sheet and Jennings could be signed and traded somewhere.

True, but I think its become clear the Bucks dont really care about keeping Jennings, and while someone could sign and trade, the free agent market for him has been so bad that its hard to think someone will want to give him a fat contract AND have to negotiate a trade to get him.

I think the Hawks will match and eventually Jennings will settle for the same contract Teague signed..

Also Wolves signed Brewer and possibly Turiaf.

Lets hope they finish 8th or 9th with a healthy team so we get another good pick.

With the moves Minnesota, Sacramento and especially New Orleans made only the Jazz could be a challenge to us in the West.
