Now I know O'Neal cold-cocked some guy who came out onto the court. I guess the question was if he felt threatened by that guy. I don't remember the replay much, but it appeared that the guy was much smaller than Jermaine, but I'm not sure if he did the "put up your dukes" stance that the fat dude did with Artest when he came back out onto the court.

O'Neal really blindsided him though, from what i saw. He came from the side and punched/slipped on him.


Tinsley kinda got out of it without much. He was shoving some guy in red, obviously an official who was trying to hold him back. Then later in the tunnel he was weilding what looked to be a mop. lol.

Oneal rushed the fat guy and blindsided him hard.

I agree with the suspensions to the players, but the Pistons as a team deserved a harsher punishment. This actually helps them, as one of their rivals from the east (which I might add they don't have that many of them) just got a lot worst for 25 games and lost an "all-star" for the entire season.

The suspensions seemed generally OK, as long as the fans who threw the beer, the chair, and clobbered Jones from behind get banned from NBA stadiums for life. Fans of pro sports need to get a loud, clear message, too. Everybody wants their 15 minutes of televised fame.

I don't really have any problems with the suspensions. Rest of the season is like 75 games, so that is a huge punishment. Although if Artest gets 75 games and Jackson only 30, that is quite a difference.

Thank you Chris, and my apologies to Zenny. I have lifted the ban. I simply rushed to judgment there. That said, I thought I asked relatively nicely that the threads stayed on topic and even threatened to ban the next person who couldn't do that.

I'll just go ahead and close this thread now. If someone wants to start another thread about the punishments from Friday night's fight that would be great.

Oneal should have been suspended for the season. He was the biggest cheap shot artist out there that night...
