Maybe he's being extra positive to push forth the idea that Erickson deserves an extension.

With two of your wins being against FCS teams, it is highly doubtful you guys get a bowl bid

Your going to get beat by 10+ devils. We are what we are. The 3rd or 4th best team in the Pac-10. You guys are like 7th or 8th. And we are at home.

Welcome to Blow-Out City. Population: You Guys :)

:biglaugh: Had a great time in blow out city. Seriously, it was lots of fun. What a joke that ASU isn't in a bowl game, you couldn't name 20 teams better than ASU. Great finish to the season. Can't wait until next year.

Congrats on the win but let's not go overboard here.

Congrats to the ASU football team for the win. It wasn't a well played game but if you can't execute the simple things like a PAT, it's going to bite you in the butt. :bang:

Thanks to our inept kicker, I already know what I am going to get my really good ASU fan, an Alex Zendejas Christmas ornament.

Really? Did you watch the game or this season?

I'd also be wary in crowning this ASU team next year. You still have QB and WR issues. Still should win nine games though, Burfict is ridiculous. He literally carries that defense.

Burfict is ridiculous. He literally carries that defense.

I didn't catch the entire game, but I don't remember seeing him lose his temper and drawing any bad penalties.

I do remember, however, seeing him grab the running back a few times and literally hold him and pull him backward when the guy only needed a few more feet to get the first down. Usually in that situation, the back can at least stretch to get the distance, but he had no chance last night.

We've all seen Burfict's natural talent and it's amazing, but if he is now able to control his emotions and make the smart play instead of just smashing someone...well, I can't wait til next season. Wow.

Okay, I have to say this. The game was amazing. But, for me, nothing is sweeter than revenge. Going from picture one, where Zendejas kicked the game winner in Tempe and then proceeded to taunt and antagonize Burfict, to picture two where he is running off the field like a little you know what...CLASSIC.

And that concludes the worst football week of my young life.

I'm not sure I even have much to say other then the difference in the game was the freaking kicker point blank period. I can't really fault and player or coach other then Zendejas and say Weber was nothing short of amazing. Foles looked like an NFL ready stud as did Criner. Other then Osweiler running around the defense played well. Stoops and staff made excellent half time adjustments.

In the end the teams were more evenly matched then I thought a Burflict looked like a first round pick to me.

I guess you'll take the win but I'm having a hard time accepting that as a loss or that we were outplayed and beat. What should have been the latest chapter in Foles still building legacy as best UA QB ever was instead a bitter pill that I looking forward to eradicating from memory.

Oh well. Thank god for Sean Miller. As any cats fan will tell you, we would rather win in basketball anyway.

Well played Devils and fans. Enjoy the territorial cup for the next 365. You earned it as much as Zendejas lost it.

The fact that we lost so many games this year off of PAT's, field goals, and dumb little things like that make this so much sweeter. This team will compete next year if we can just play a bit smarter.

Question: I know Weber hasn't been great, but did we recruit a kicker for next season? I don't want us falling into USC's position.

The recruiting this off-season will be big. We could use a couple good JuCo players who can come in and help us on some weak spots for next season, but also a good young group so we don't completely fall apart for a few years if Erickson receives an extension next year.

Why do people keep mentioning the kicker? We lost the game when we gave ASU three points by deciding to go for it 4th and 1 at our own 25 yard line halfway through the fourth quarter. We punt it there and Foles in all likelihood drives us a winning TD and the XP is moot. Not to mention we have all known Zendejas (and our kicking game in general) has been all over the place this entire season and nothing has been done to rectify the situation. If you followed UA Football this year then Zendejas' miscue should not have come as a huge surprise. I won't even get into the horrendous playcalling that allowed ASU's inept offense to stay in the game in the first place.

Coaching lost this game, pure and simple.

In any given game there are going to be good and bad plays and coaching decisions. I am okay with that - its the ebb and flow of the game. In hindsight you are right that was a risky spot to go for it but that late in the game, our defense was tired, and Marshall was starting to pick up chunks of yardage. Bill Belichek goes for it there too and non one questions his coaching acumen.

I consider ONE blocked PAT to be the ebb and flow of the game too. And we could have overcome that anyway. But TWO in twelve minutes? TWO? The fact that Stoops even had to consider going for two shows how bad Zendejas is at his job and I can't just say he "missed the kick" - he literally linedrived that last kick into the back of the lineman. Between the last two PATs and that EGREGIOUS out of bounds kick with 28 seconds left - Its almost like the kid was throwing the game. And they don't have those type of kicking issues in highschool let alone FBS football.

The team and coaches overcame that clown's ineptitude twice in the last minute. They couldn't do it a third time in OT.

It takes a team to lose but Foles and the D showed heart time and time again, only to have the most routine crap by a kicker foil them. I'm not sure how anyone can point the finger at anyone else.
