IMHO the weakest position right now is RT.Andre Smith was signed to play Guard/backup RT.McGlinchey or Connor Williams can probably start immediately.

Or, how 'bout trading down and grabbing Jackson later in the 1st round? ;)

I'm interested in a possible trade down in the draft but I thought we were supposed to pick the player if the Cardinals stayed at #15.

I have a hunch Keim will trade down with the first pick and the forum will go crazy. :D

1.I think we need a big threat at wr to help keep defenses from stacking the box. Ridley Washington, Sutton.
2. We need a DE because I do not believe Markus Golden is a DE and is he healthy? Take a chance on Arden Key if he's still there and leave Golden at OLB.
3. Give me a OLB like Uchenna Nwosa and we could create a hellish front 7.

Rankings are just about never right. If you think highly of a player because he is ranked 23rd and we are drafting 15th, TAKE HIM. Believe in your convictions. I'd take Washington and enjoy watching him stretch the field and open holes for DJ.

So my vote is none of the above.

P.S. We are NOT taking a QB unless we can trade down to aposition that would allow us to take a QB and get a downfield threat.

There are of course differing opions to your analysis. The HC Wilks likes Golden in an attacking mode which he was pretty much exclusively used for before. Thus the transition to a 4 man rush which was the minimum they were using last year as well. So it's not really a sea change here.

The Cardinals' brass believes WR's are plentiful in this draft again. So 1st round is definitely out. Round 2-3 definitely in play. As they are for OL and CB. Same with DL. As there will be talent available in the 1st, there are so many glaring holes that it just doesn't seem like a priority and the new coaching staff will have to still develop players like Pierre and Nkemdiche to reach their potential. We do have some young talent along there making some strides.

Round 1 this year is anyones guess. Chance that they take Lamar at 15 is way less than 50% if he's there, imo. I just don't think they are sold on him. Many here obviously disagree, and I might as well. But I can definitely see them addressing RT with the first pick to avoid the fiasco that played out last year. There are a few on board with that assessment.

Other play in the draft that has been discussed is trading this years 1st and 2nd and next years 2nd+ for a chance at the QB they really do believe in. That is still a possibility as well. Appreciate your take on it. :newcards:

This franchise need a player like him, someone who can make big time plays
A spectacular dual treat, something we didn't experience before with our beloved franchise

I think the silence about LJ to deafening. I think the Cards do like him, and they are refusing to mention him so people will say exactly what they are saying "the cards are not interested in LJ". If he is there at 15 I think he'll be the pick.

Interested to see whoever voted for Ward @15 would you take Josh Jackson instead if he was gone and if all the others were still available?

Results so far:

L. Jackson, QB - 22
D. Ward, CB - 11
L. Vander Esch, LB - 8
C. RIdley, WR - 7
M. McGlinchey, RT - 4

Josh Jackson also with 2 votes at CB, so 13 votes total at CB.

I wouldn’t take J. Jackson before McGlinchey, L. Jackson, or C. Williams if Ward isn’t an option.

Yeah, I added Ward as one of the players to gauge the interest in a 1st round CB. I doubt he'll be available, but he could be. I don't see hardly any drop off between the two really. You'd be splitting hairs. I don't think Hughes is far off the pace either.

I think Ward is far and above the better of the 2, but Hughes and Jackson are on the same level IMO

If Ward is there he has to be the pick, Jackson is #2 in this scenario.
