You think .163 is a good BA? Not sure what you are questioning here.

There had to be someone else besides those 2 to be the last chance batters...

Ya he was just kidding, but I see your point...

Idk what is happening anymore. TL looks in over his head but I can't really blame him with this trainwreck of a late bullpen and the inconsistent offense.

Well, the bullpen is about as reliable as a 5-year-old jar of Elmer's Glue. But again it's the O-fence that stranded more runners than an episode of "Survivor." Leaving the bases loaded twice? WTF?

The only solace is that Hotlanta is 1st in the NL East. So losing to a division leader isn't as crappy as dropping games to the Giants and Padres. It's too late to make more pitching changes, and every roster is probably chock full of arms with the September call-ups.

I have no doubt Torey would love to go ape-poo crazy in front of those microphones. I know he is extremely pissed off and frustrated that certain players continue to fall short in the most crucial moments...
At the same time, he can’t do that.. He’s got to remain level-headed and find the opportunities to support his players. It sucks of course, but as a leader it’s what he has to to do.
That said, all of the short-comings we feared about this team back in Spring Training are now showing up. That’s what happens when you are short on talent and short on $$.
I can’t recall exactly what I predicted for wins this season, but I believe I had this team pegged for roughly a .500 season. And that’s really what they are - at best! Probably not even a .500 team really... Only April has allowed them to be above .500.

I know TL has gotten a lot of grief for some of his in game decisions lately but his decisions are based on who he trusts and maybe he doesn’t trust guys he normally would these days because everyone is becoming unreliable lately. Add the pressure of a tight division race where it’s closer than the wild card race and that’s a tough spot to be in as a manager.

They had already burned Mathis and Murphy. You gonna bring in the new guy who, as far as I can recall, hasn't caught any with the team?

No win situation. And they didn't win

People should be staring up at the out-of-town scoreboard to see what's happening with the Doyers and Rockies.

I wish Paul would calm down. He's still a young man, it's not good for the heart to get that worked up.... lol

This is the land of second-guess-hindsight managers.

It’s quite hilarious.

I know you are trying to be optimistic. But what you've posted are alibis. You don't need alibis if you are succeeding and getting better with experience.

My evaluation of Torey is that he is terribly inconsistent. Is it any wonder that the team is inconsistent, too?

Consider this. When the D-backs had all of those injuries and Torey had limited options, the players played better than they are now.

Now that he has all these different combinations he can use, every day is a new beginning. Meaning that every yesterday was evidently not good enough. That is not how you motivate a team. Or the fans.

When a man is promoted to Manager and in a new league, he is unproven. Despite our high hopes, there is no guarantee that he would rise to the occasion. In the great majority of games since the injured players have returned, we have gotten worse.

The Manager, his Hitting Coach and his 3B Coach have all been underperforming. And the worst part is they are getting worse.

I'll say it again. Torey has been terribly inconsistent from game to game. Is it any wonder that the team in inconsistent, too?

Tough spot to be in as a manager? Yes, especially if he is in over his head. It is not easy to say because he seems like a nice guy. But if he is a tough spot, as you said, where is the hope? It is not going to get easier.

Goldy with a 2-out bases empty HR. We're on the scoreboard in the 1st inning. The top 1st inning scoring team in baseball.

So much for the stats. Let's win the game.

Corbin threw almost 30 pitches in the top of the 1st.

Peralta singles in a run in the bottom of the 3rd. An overthrow and there are D-backs on 2nd & 3rd with one out. leading 2-1.

It would be nice to see those two runners score.

Then Pollock walks to load the bases, with Descalso coming up. Hey, Daniel, remember your nickname.

And "Clutch" singles in two. Runner on third as Descalso is out trying for 2B. Ahmed strikes out. D-backs up 4-1.

A lot more players getting base hits vs. hitting the ball in the air. 'Good to see and fun to watch runners crossing the plate. It's about time!

An RBI double so far. 4-2, runner on 2B with no one out.

Then runners on 1B and 2B with one out.

And a swinging bunt and the bases are loaded.

They really need to bring in Ziegler.

And in he comes.

Aw, a double play ball to Marte and Ahmed blows it. An error on the missed catch. 4-3. Bases still loaded.

Ziegler should have been out of the inning.

And Ziegler with a strikeout for the second out.

Ziegler should definitely replace Archie for the rest of the season. He did his job. Even with Ahmed's error. 4-3 D-backs heading into the bottom of the 8th.
