This would be separate from the Ayton deal if made. And I believe we have 4 trade exceptions at the moment.
Thanks for the clarification. That might explain why no word on Allen arriving as @Mainstreet pointed out before.

I'm so happy for Book - never having to go thru that bs again - I think we may be done getting blown the F out of the playoffs every year
This is huge. So happy for Book! Weight off his shoulders. Been long enough to see who the real Ayton is, and one can only speculate if Vogel would have changed anything or if Ayton got his act together, but enough is enough.

I don't understand Jones's obsession with McConnell.

I guess he must still believe in the need for traditional point guards.

The Suns rumored interest in TJ McConnell will not die. I thought the Ayton trade was finalized.

Could Grayson Allen still be traded? It's the only salary that would work.

Little and Keon for McConnell works financially. 2 for 1 then waive Ish. Who knows.

Damn… Allen was the main reason I liked the deal.

TJ McConnel’s okay but that dude can’t pass up open three when they’re there for the taking.

I won't believe any deal for McConnell will happen until it actually does.

I'm more interested as to why we haven't heard much about Allen yet. And interested in why the Suns themselves haven't said anything outside of the standard press release. Maybe waiting until Monday for Media Day?

Based on what Gambo has said the Suns think about Little, I don't think they are trading him - especially because he is locked up cheap for 4 years.

Allen straight up I can believe, because he is essentially redundant with Gordon - and is on only a 1 year contract.

Considering our cap situation, the 2 years McConnell is under contract is also probably considered a bonus.

IMO, TJ McConnell provides more actual toughness than Grayson Allen.

He is not a shooter though, that is true.

I'd like to keep Little though because of his reasonable 4 year contract.

Prefer to move Allen who has a player option next season.

If we end up having Allen and McConnell on the squad this year I'm going to do a graphic with Booker appearing to be in deep contemplation

Then on top of one shoulder I'll have a mini McConnell sporting a halo and mini Allen on the other shoulder rocking some full on devil horns

Here are some interesting tidbits from Hoops Rumors.

It appears the Suns have been interested in Grayson Allen since last season. They also remain interested in TJ McConnell.

From Hoops Rumors:

While Fischer points out that the Suns are extremely short on point guard depth, he admits he’s not sure if the team will be eager to sacrifice its wing depth by moving a player like Little or Allen. Allen, in particular, had been on Phoenix’s radar for a while, as Fischer noted on Wednesday.

Suns owner Mat Ishbia was “very involved” in the trade that landed Allen, Little, Johnson, and Jusuf Nurkic in Phoenix, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic. As Amick explains, the Suns view the move as one that not only adds depth but gives them players who better fit around their stars. Nurkic was a longtime target for the club, which is “thrilled” to have landed him, Amick adds.

Mat Ishbia "very involved" is "very concerning".

Good perspective. I do think things are much different had JJ given him the 5 year max that MPJ got
Horrible perspective. If Ayton was so fragile that he could not handle typical contract negotiations, he should be shipped. Besides, this is new ownership now. What more is there for him to be miffed about? Everyone wants to find someone besides Ayton to blame for Ayton's inconsistency. It is just silly. Negotiating contracts is part of the game. The Suns got a better deal and they would have had a harder time trading him now if they had given him what he first wanted. Ayton did not earn a better contract. Yes, he had a great finals run, but he had not done that consistently enough to justify more. Gotta do it more than just 10 games or so.

If you search Nassir Little and Bol Bol ending up on the same team in Arizona it would probably show up in our post history. Both guys were top-5 prospects likely going to AZ but both were underwhelming college players that we would’ve been blamed on Miller for not developing them. @TJ @Russ Smith

Little’s injury history is a quite a list…

Nassir Little injury update:

- The Portland Trail Blazers have announced that forward Nassir Little underwent successful surgery to repair a right-side core muscle injury on Thursday. Per team correspondent Casey Holdahl, the procedure was similar to the one Little received last May. April 2023

- Little has been out since January 26th and is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

- Nassir Little left ankle sprain, 2021

- Little sprained his left ankle against the Utah Jazz on November 29 and missed the next four games. The Blazers were in the midst of a 1-10 slide.

- Nassir Little back injury, 2021

- Little missed two games in mid-May with a back injury.

- Nassir Little thumb injury, 2021

- Little missed three games in late March and early April with a thumb injury.

- Nassir Little knee injury, 2021

- After scoring a career-high 30 points on February 1st against Milwaukee, Little missed four games with a knee injury. He would play just 20 minutes total in the next five games.

- Little missed Game 5 against the Lakers in the 2020 playoffs due to dehydration.

- Nassir Little left ankle sprain, 2020

- Little missed five games in February with a sprained left ankle.

- Nassir Little back spasms, 2019

- Little was out from December 12 through December 20 with back spasms. He played just 24 minutes in the Blazers’ 14 games that month.

That 2018 recruiting class would’ve been lit had it not been for the FBI bullcrap. Could’ve also had RJ Barrett

Vecenie is connected, so I tend to believe him when he comments like this. The market indicated that DA was worth the 5-year max for players with no ASG appearence or other awards. Whether you or me disagree is an entirely different story. Even if he signed that, it wouldn’t have reset the market for bigs. You can’t fault a guy for being frustrated about the way the negotiations went. In fact, he made one public comment and that was it. I mean, that’s like getting upset about 3/4ths of athletes’ contract situations. I’ve just concluded that they’re all stupid and have become numb to it.

As for Ayton’s inconsistency, he has to take responsibility for that. But there’s also the fact that him and the coaching staff had mismatching views on how to use him.

I can’t wait for this topic to fizzle out so we can get back to whining about more important things.
