Actually, they had the first pick in the 1980 draft, as well. But coincidentally enough, ended up trading it to Golden State for the third pick and Robert Parish. Then Boston used the third pick to select Kevin McHale. GS took Joe Barry Carroll with the first pick.
Needless to say, brilliant move on Boston's part.
It builds an argument for trading down from the #1 pick unless there is a superstar quality player available.
If the Suns should get the first pick I would like for them to consider the same.
