You can only cut Dawson if there is an adequate replacement. Sure he missed more kicks than he usually does, but it was obvious that he was constantly concerned about his blocking on the edges.

"Adequate replacement" = I think that your average, run of the mill kicker can hit 80% of their field goals, and be very sub-average in clutch situations. Furthermore, not cost you the amount that Dawson does.

Thus I find there to be an adequate replacement on the roster for the sake of bringing in a cornerback to play opposite Peterson.

Wouldn't 8 mil eating up all the remaining cap space, after paying the rookies and saving about 5 mil for in season injuries? I know they could make more cap space if they wanted to, but I just don't see SK spending 8 mil on a CB2. I hope I am wrong though.
Well according to Somers tweet we have $18mil in space per the NFLPA. Rookie pool estimate is $6.6 million for us per sportstrac, 18-6.6 = 11.4 - 5 for in season = $6.4 million, seems like a number they can make work for a 3yr $20-$24 or 2yr $15ish, we have tons of room next year, backload it and get it done!

our rookie pool is no longer a factor....only two guys left to sign.

I think we can sign this guy if they want him,...pretty sure the Doc will have final say....should leave us room to get another vet if he comes available.

Head scratcher... seems like he’d be a really good get with a decent amount of scratch to burn.

I don’t get it. Waste money on guys like smith and Pugh but don’t spend money of one of our top 3 needs. If we can’t find a second corner this team will get crushed in division.

While we may want Breeland, the team did their work. They brought him in. Sounds like they maybe weren't confident he had healed, or that he'd fit the system.

A lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth for a guy who couldn't pass a physical to get signed in the first place.

I trust HC Wilks, he knows DBs. Breeland has a physical problem else he would have been a Panther. Keim and Wilks are not going to throw money away if there are concerns.
