I love Beanie and wants him to be our premier back. I like Hightower and believe he is a solid back. But, here Beanie is just being a kid...

We had a total of 14 rush plays called.

Hightower 7 carries, 24 yards
Beanie 5 carries, 19 yards
LSH 2 carries, 4 yards

We gave up on running because we were down by three scores by the end of 2nd quarter. I think we had a total of 2 rushes in the entire 2nd half BECAUSE WE WERE BEHIND!!

I do agree that Beanie SHOULD HAVE been in the game much before 10 min mark in the second quarter. That part I do not understand or agree but we just did not have enough carries for any of the backs yesterday.

Against the Raiders, the first game Beanie returned, he got the most carries: 14/75 yards while Hightower, who has been playing really well, got 11/40 yards.

Thats complete hogwash!!! This team has been throwing the ball so much more than running for years now, regardless of score. Warner doesn't play here anymore so it shouldnt continue to happen.

Whats the best way to get your rookie QB killed? Pass every chance you get.

We'd be carrying pitchforks and torches if Wells got injured - we'd call for the HC to be drawn & quartered should something happen. So when Beanie's use is limited, we go ballistic?
Since this whole premise is conjecture at best, could Beanie have a run count to assure that he doesn't re-injure himself?

Every running back says that he should carry the rock and every receiver says that he can catch whatever is thrown to him. I am glad that they think that way but it may not be in their or the teams best interest.

Just saying....

If Wells ever gets his chance to take over the reigns you will see Shane.

Btw didnt you state that Beanie is the one with the chance to be elite, not THT? Why wouldn't you want to potentially see that?

I do wanna see it and I want to see him get more carries than TH. In a perfrect world IMO I would like to see Beanie with about 15-20 carries a game and Timmy with about 10-12.

What I can't stand is the constant barrage around here of people calling Beanie an elite RB or implying that he is. He just isn't in that echelon yet nor should he spoken about as though he is. Almost everyone calls him a game breaker. Yet the only one showing game breaking ability as of late is Timmy. I truly believe Beanie is more talented and should get the bulk of the carries. But Timmy needs to see the ball as well. I also think that Beanie is long overdue for a TD of over 50 yards to back up all this talk about being a game breaker.

It annoys me that people will put down Timmy in the process as though he isnt a decent RB. I'm not saying you BTW.

I understand wanting Beanie but why spite Timmy in the process?

I'm reminded of something that happened a few weeks ago with Randy Moss mouthing off about noone loved him...can't get a contract...etc.

Yet, a day later he comes on Sportscenter to say basically....'coach told me to shut my piehole and I said, yes sir' end of story.

I doubt we'll get something like that here

More from Beanie. This doesn't sound good.

Not only do the Cardinals

have a full-fledged quarterback controversy, but now they have a potential star running back who is upset about his own role.

"I'm not really worried about the quarterback situation. I'm worried about my situation," Beanie Wells told The Arizona Republic on Monday.

"I didn't get into the game until there were four minutes left in the second quarter (Sunday against the Chargers) and I have no clue as to why. I'd like to think I'm a big part of this thing, but right now, I don't feel it."
Wells, who had just five carries for 19 yards in Arizona's 41-10 loss, said he planned to meet privately with coach Ken Whisenhunt to discuss his displeasure.

"Oh, we're definitely going to have a talk," Wells told The Republic.

That isnt going to cut it Shane. I know we watch the same Cards games & throwing the ball 30-35 times with the QB situation & putrid Oline play isn't winning many games.

Beanie 20+
THT 10-15

Beanie's to damn brittle for 20+ VERY VERY few RB's get 320 carries a season. Yet you want Beanie to get more than that. Wishful thinking my friend.

Trent Green and Kurt Warner were hard workers who turned into good players because they had the drive to be great. With Leinart, it's "I don't understand why I'm not a starter" when he fails to move the offense in preseason.

I'll bet my house and my entire family that Leinart doesn't become a good starter for anyone in the future.

ftfy

Bucky's my Longhorn bro but Shane is right. A lot of people don't realize that the vast majority of running backs in the NFL average less than 20 carries a game.

No matter how brittle or tough they are.

We'd be carrying pitchforks and torches if Wells got injured

Derm that already happened. Look at the posts referring to Beanie getting hurt in the pre season. :D

Interesting. The other guys made it sound like it was said with venom in his blood. Very Interesting.

Not yesterday... we gave up rushing because we were behind. Its up to you if you close your eyes to the fact.

Of course that also has been a subject of debate. Not only here but on numerous football message boards. Do teams give up on the run too early even when down 14-0.

Of course it would be nice if we could do what teams did to us last year and throw for 300 yards and 3 TDs once the Cards got them down 21-0. The KW Cards sure could. Dang I've got to quit thinking about the last two years. Makes the last 3 weeks even more depressing.

If he gets hurt getting meaningless carries behind 2nd string linemen, then yeah, people are going to get upset about that. If he gets hurt in the regular season, that's football.

Chargers 28 pass plays, 14 rush plays - Down 28-7 by half, blowout
Raiders 26 pass plays, 26 rush plays - Raiders 20-17 by half, close game
Falcons 33 pass plays, 13 rush plays - Down 24-7 by half, blowout
Rams 41 pass plays, 21 rush plays - Down 13-10 after 3rd quarter, close game

We had two blowouts and had to throw to catch up. Raiders even. Rams enough rush plays with Beanie out. Rams BTW threw for 55 plays.

So, I'm not sure where is this coming from that we are coming out of the gate throwing like we did with Warner.

I think it has more to do with the number of passes thrown early in the game, which you can track by going to places like nfl.com/scores and checking the play by play, than total number of passes overall.

This team is in a prime position for a total melt down. I really think Beanie might one day be special, but that day has not come and it isnt for not getting play time. He is still learning. But the fact that he is making these comments cannot turn out well. It never does for any player on any team, but I think moreso on this team. All of them are clearly frustrated, but once the "Me" and "I" comments start that is not good.
