How funny!
I just got done typing this when I received an email from NYPD.

To paraphrase
"We're sorry, we're still trying to figure this out, But hey, if you stop by in the next four days we'll give you a free pizza".

The point of the whole process was to not have to pay almost thirty bucks for a delivery pizza after tip!. I will pay twenty bucks for a quality pizza, after tip, to be delivered but the line has been drawn.
Enjoy your free pizza, at least!!

I think I'm going to send an email... :D

The Vortex!
So after I received their first e-mail I sent them another explaining how their minimmum was too high and other pizza places in the area only charge a fifteen dollar minimmum. I also thanked them for the free pizza offer but chances I wouldn't be in the area within the next four days to pick it up.

Fast forward to today.
I received a phone call this morning from the manager of NYPD.
He informed me that they have dropped their minimmum from twenty dollars to fifteen and apologized to me for the inconvenience. He also said there was no time limit on the free pizza he offered me and I could also use it to have one deliveried.

I was impressed. The manager went out of his way to get back to me, and listen to and act upon a complaint.
That's impressive customer service!

Two places that I've really grown to like that aren't on this list:

Cibo and La Piazza al Forno

Both are very, very good.

I did try to get into Bianco a while back - they accept reservations for certain party sizes and we worked out the details on how to get them ..... the first night we tried we were shut down, the 2nd night they said we were good to go

fast forward a month and our group is in town - a couple days before we give them a call to confirm our reservation and the lady working there was a complete jerk ....... I'm sure people try to sneak on, etc - but that wasn't us - instead of just saying "sorry I don't see you on the list and unfortunately cannot accomodate you at this time" she was by far the rudest, most condescending person I've encountered in a long time

I swore off all things bianco due to this .... i understand she's no longer involved with the operation, so I may give it another chance

Anyhow, I had been to La Piazza a couple of times and gave them a call to see what they could do on short notice for a larger party (at that time they accepted no reservations - they now accept larger groups) .... they said they would squeeze us in on first seating (5pm) if we could make it ..... was opening weekend of glendale glitters and they had just aired on food network, so it was super busy

they completely took care of our group - came out of the kitchen to chat a bit and helped make a memorable night ... the food was as good as usual

this alone makes me not so anxious to try other places .... plus the cheesecake is fantastic as well

This made me laugh - Linderbee having to make a "trek across town" to get to Glendale.
Sigh. I don't know if I'll ever get dcr to go that far for just pizza. It's a 40-minute drive...I think that qualifies as a trek!! :)

What is so good about the Westside?
Uh, it's where I'm FROM! :)

I loved living in both Glendale & Peoria; they are great cities. Glendale does a ton of stuff community-wise. There is always stuff going on, things you can do (cheap). Plus, almost all of my friends & family live on the west side.

Whats so great about the Westside? Its not the Eastside.. haha

Whats so great about the eastside? Everything in Scottsdale is called gourment so they can overprice it.. Never seen a Gourment Mini Market till I started working in Scottsdale.. The Scottsdale drivers are the worst drivers I have ever seen, I wont even go into all the stupid crap Ive seen.. Mesa is just wack.. I been thru Mesa and didnt even want to get out of my car.. Only because I was afraid to touch anything, didnt want a disease.. And Mesa has the Cubs field out there.. Im so glad the Westside doesnt have to deal with them dipshits.. Tempe.. Well Tempe has ASU with their ketchup and mustard uniforms, Lame ass ASU nuff said..

Dont ask me why, but I can sniff out these East/Westside threads.. ha

Scottsdale does NOT = East Valley. Neither the EV nor Scottsdale claim each other.

Mesa = Glendale. It's the same freakin' place just different sides of town. Only difference is Mesa didn't want to become stadia central and Glendale did. Thinking Mesa won that battle.

Having lived in both, I can attest that Mesa does not equal Glendale.

And what do you mean (Matt) that Mesa won that battle? Mesa was incredibly stupid for not getting the Cards' stadium built out there. They're the ones losing out on that revenue. Great move for Glendale.

Having lived in both, I can attest they are! I win!

What did Glendale win, besides a future date as the first Arizona city to file for bankruptcy? Solvency beats an NFL stadium any day.
