In an interview in Latvia, he talks about the trade rumors a year ago.

http://www.warriorsworld.net/andris-biedrins-speaks-out/#more-1807

On finishing out his career with the Warriors

“It’s very rare, that a player stays with one team. It’s very rare and every player travels during his career. It’s part of the business. It doesn’t really matter how good or bad you have played during the season. They actually wanted to trade me after the last season. Not this one, but the last, which was the best of my career, but it didn’t go through. So, I guess, if they trade me, there could be some nice changes involved, maybe I’ll be on a better team, with better teamwork. When the rumors came out last year about me going to Phoenix, I would’ve loved to play with Steve Nash. Also, the Phoenix team, the city, it was all fun to think about. With a point guard like that, the game is different.”

It makes me sick to my stomach that we could not pull this off. I advocated trading Marion for Biedrins at the time and a top 3 of Nash-Amare-Biedrins would have been ridiculously awesome. I don't remember who would have run at the 2 with the team, but Nash-???-Hill-Stoudemire-Biedrins would be a tough lineup to beat and Biedrins would average 13 to 14 rips per game....

Is he referring to the 'draft day' rumors in 2009? Wouldn't that have sent Amare to the Warriors?
I liked the version that would have sent Steph Curry to the Suns. That would have been sweet!

Biedrins is one of the most injury prone players in the league.

So? Once again, you grace us with your presence adding nothing to the conversation.

Not saying he should have been a Sun, just reporting that he seemed to want to be last season.

I'd like to have Lopez and Biedrins playing center for the Suns. As it appears Biedrins is unhappy at GS, I wonder what it would take to make it happen?

No. 7 (Curry), Andris Biedrins, Brandan Wright and Marco Bellineli

Nash/Curry
JRich/Dragic/Childress/Bellineli
Hill/Dudley/Clark
Turkoglu/Frye/Warrick
Biedrins/Lopez/Lawal/Wright

Oldest starting lineup in league.
Best bench in history!

Still need a real, quality 4 there imo to be an honest threat. Throw in Anthony Randolph in that trade and I think we've really got something.

I think it's relevant. I like the talent of Tracy McGrady and AK-47 but both being brittle makes them less desierable.

Except all I did was post that he was potentially excited about coming. I never said anything about actually wanting him here.

I think people are short-sighted here. Yes, he isn't exactly an ironman, but for all the complaining about the lack of rebounding and then to just turn around and write off a rebounding big man smells of hypocrisy.

Financially, I'd rather keep JRich because Biedrins makes too much money to trade anyone else on our team. We would lose most of our offense point output with a trade like that.

And as far as injuries go, McGrady and Biedrins don't even belong in the same sentence. AK, yes, but McGrady, no.

Biedrins was my pick for the 2004 draft that got traded away. I eventually got talked out of it, but I liked what he offered.

Over the years I have thought a lot about the moves BC made that year. Getting Nash was golden, but the trade of the pick, not signing McDyse (the Pistons got him for $24 Million over 4 years, waiting around trying to get Manu (who wouldn't give the Suns a visit) so they missed out on Hedo, and signing Q for way too much and failing to sign JJ when they had the chace. What If.....

Easy on there - when slin posts a comment like this I hear all I need to hear about the guy.

I guess you could say he made the conversation!

I just don't understand why this 'news' should be relevant. Eddy "Fat" Curry from NYK would have said the same thing as Biedrins. Everybody would like to play with Nash. But Suns don't need them at their salaries.

As much as I love to fence with Chap, I appreciate anything and everything people post here, especially during the off-season. It's Suns related. That's the relevance. Thanks for posting this Chap.

Well, if it revealed your preference even latently in favor having Biedrins on the team, I'd say it'd be very relevant. Many followup posts assumed such, if I'm not mistaken. :bang:

You mean all those posts that I wrote "Not saying he should have been a Sun, just reporting that he seemed to want to be last season."

Read the original post! I didn't give any opinion at all.

As for the post where I mention his brittleness, I was just saying his rebounding and defense should be compared with his brittleness and you should ask yourself if it would be worth it. If you don't think so, fine. If you do think so, that's ok too. I didn't give my opinion either way other than to say that I think it's worth discussing.

Personally, I was interested to read it. Thanks for posting.

And for the poster that has a problem with it, just read it and move on. I know there's soooo much to read in the offseason about our beloved Suns that it takes most of the day to keep up with it all, but that's life.

without Amare Stoudemire's expiring contract we only have the money to sign one of the Josh Childress, Channing Frye, Hakeem Warrick group I believe.
