Exum is interesting. Former high draft pick. Possibly untapped potential. Igor already familiar with him

My concern is he was touted as a pg prospect entering the draft but in the limited games he’s played since entering the league he doesn’t show pg proclivities.

Would rather go 2/20 for Exum than 4/50 for VanVleet. I think there’s a good chance Utah would match though.

Thats fair. But I think if he had shown any of that he probably wouldn't be available. I think if we did go after him it would be telling that Igor maybe saw something in practices that warrant bringing him in

True. We would be hoping that Igor knows best.

This seems reasonable. I think Exum can improve as a PG and I like what I have seen of his defense. However, if the Suns are looking for a PG who can shoot 3's, this may be a problem.

yeah it'll be interesting to see how everything will play out in terms of player roles and how we run our offense. I'm excited

Ball has a torn meniscus, out for 1-3 months. Dude's durability is too much in question to give up assets for.

Yup. Igor also knows Okobo quite well, having coached against him. It's highly improbable that after having drafted the latter that he'd prefer Exum over him as a floor general. Whatever transpires, as far as these two are concerned, it ought to be an informed dexcision.

I won't be greatly surprised if the Suns postpone getting an outside PG until after SL, whcih should give them a decent read on Okobo - if he meshes well with the other guys why bother with a short term player like Rondo. If things go south, why bother with a short term player like Rondo - go for a PGOF, like VanVleet. Or pry Tyus Jones loose.

Has Igor talked about having coached against Okobo? Okobo is so young that I doubt Igor would have coached against him in Europe.

I first heard of Okobo when he played against Igor's national team last summer. Probably played against him again more recently though I didn't observe such a game... SirStefan can probably answer that...

They wouldn't take one of Dudley/ Chandler to offset it somewhat? Either one expires after the season.
He signed a 3 year/$100,000,000 contract last summer, so he doesn't go off the books until 2020. It's not that Toronto won't take Chandler or Dudley, I would think they would LOVE to. I question the Suns wanting Lowry who isn't going to be around when we are truly championship contenders. That's a pretty expensive stopgap.

We'll just have to stay patient. Kemba will be a free agent soon. A lot of the 2nd tier teams like Portland, Toronto, and Washington are going to have to make decisions about their roster as they start paying the luxury tax. There will be more stars on the market soon.

I am honestly not sure. I didn't think Okobo was on the national team. I think he played for the Under-20 team. What I am hearing about Okobo is not very encouraging, but these are the same people who assured me Dragic was not an NBA player when he was drafted, so who knows. To the best of my knowledge, Igor has never coached against him.

The meniscus tear by itself doesn't scare me, but the fact that it is his 3rd or 4th significant injury in a year does scare me.
