Ya'll are clearly speculating about him having to be convinced of this. A case of people seeing what they want to see.

Kent Somers directly refuted that line of thought on Twitter. He says that the decision was left to Whisenhunt.

Sorry about what this does to you and your family Bill. That said, as a fan I'm about to do the naked woo-hoo dance!

Oh happy day!

Sucks for the Davis family, hope they land on their feet.

But YAY!

Two classy posts.

I don't get why anyone wants Samari Mike. He completely lost his team as many predicted he would be cause his style is short term positive long term failure.

Did anyone see how happy the players were for "Jim the Coach" when they beat the Cards. I would guess his style is polar opposite of Samari's and it was a huge refreshing change for the players.

John Fox is a 4-3 guy so I don't think he is a likely candidate. Maybe if Whiz is open to switching over to a 4-3. Fox very well may get a HC position and even if he doesn't he will command a lot of money. He is highly respected and will get another HC opportunity so I doubt he is a long term solution as our DC anyway.

Kevin Greene would be a BIG roll of the dice IMWO.

I Don't want Austin back as the DC but I guess many of us who assumed that he was forced out and Henderson would be a huge upgrade were incorrect.

Butler and Nolan are my two front runners but I'm just some dude on the internet.

Flash back to 3 years ago and most fans were afraid we would lose Grimm to a HC opportunity. Today many fans want him fired or to get a HC opportunity.
Grimm's biggest mistake was his assessment on Levi Browns abilities. I'm not saying I would be upset if he was fired but I'm not worried about it if he isn't.

ArizonaFinest,

You speak for me a great majority of the time. Whiz haters at this point are just that, haters. Now if the results don't improve from this year then I will join the Whiz must go club. Having said that, "In Whiz I Trust" , Come on Dems it's not to early to get back on board.

Ok that's one step in the right direction.

Not hiring from the staff is a great 2nd step.

My condolences to Davis, may he have a great career wherever he lands unless it's the 49ers or Cowboys.

It would be worse than Davis! I'd be OK to bring in Singletary to make a few motivational speeches & that's about it. He has no concept of x's & 0's. Whatever may come out of his mouth may sound great, but there's no substance. I'd make an analogy, but I'll leave politics out of this. The sad thing is that I can't remember the Cardinals D ever being good & I go back a long way. Even with the great Larry Wilson & Roger Wehrli, our D sucked. Our D was pretty good in Ryan's 1st year as coach & perhaps in Bugle's last year, when Fritz Shurmur was the DC. Whiz did a great job of changing the OVERALL culture of this franchise, but he certainly didn't change the culture on the defensive side of the ball. We really, really need an experienced DC with proven success. This will be the most important decision that Whiz has had to make in his young career as a HC.

Agree 100%. Except for Buddy Ryan's first year, I always dreaded when the defense had to go onto the field. And in that year, I'd rather see the defense as our offense went to hell.

I just have a hard time believing that with all the talent we have on defense that it didn't do a much better job this year.

Darren Urban tweeted Bill Davis fired!!!

I will sure go with that Mulli. Newton has been moving up and Mallet has been moving down. Mallet announced yesterday he was entering the draft so you can be sure he will be drafted in the first round. How high? Until the interviews and camps the NFL GMs will not have made up their minds. You can be sure all the teams needing a QB have looked over all the films of the available QBs and have a good idea of who they might want. I still think Mallet goes in the top there QBs taken. There seems to be some people who think he is not smart. They are dead wrong on that. He sleeps with the play book and lives in the film room. I think in 3 years he will be starting for some team in the NFL. Hope Newton is there when we draft but the Panthers could very well take him.

I agree 100% as well. Great post PA. Amazing how this franchise simply can't put a top defense on the field but have no problem getting great WRs. It's like the Bears before they got Cutler. Couldn't get a top QB to save their lives yet they could take guys off the street and they'd rush for 100 yards for the Bears.

OMG I agreed with 40year. Must be that I'm now old like him.
