OK...there is a BlockBuster on every corner. How lazy are we becoming??

They're all closing in the bay area because nobody goes in to rent anymore due to online rental.

If you get three on the mail and one in store via coupon each week now, you will add three more in-store rentals on top of that.

Pretty good move by BBI. It should build some buzz and all they are really out is the labor to key the online returns in the store and have a little less stock that was probably not being rented anyway.

Well, my ex did a real good job of screwing up my mail service. Thank god I buy everything I watch.

Looks like someone forgot to renew the web address "www.blockbusteronline.com". That's a pretty big flub for such a big company.

Check it out while you can, I'm sure it'll be back up momentarily.

I cleared my cache, still a no-go.

I can access my stuff through blockbuster.com, but my bookmark to blockbusteronline.com doesn't work--it looks like they let the domain expire.

DDogg--are you going through blockbusteronline.com?

None of this really matters to me, but now that you guys are telling me you're in and I'm out I might go Owen Wilson on you if I can't figure it out.

Yeah, I cut and pasted it from your post and put it in my browser.

Don't know why it doesn't work for you.

Netflix was cheap when it started and didn't have competition.

Was Blockbuster really any competition for Netflix? Anyone know how many on-line subscribers Blockbuster had compared to Netflix?

I had both. And yes, blockbuster was a price competitor...Netflix continued to be forced to make it's offering better than Blockbuster's ever changing strategy and which sunk a lot of money into it's total access plan. Which, BTW, for awhile was better than Netflix. But then they (BB) started losing their shirt and changed the plans to the point where I laughed in the face of a BB guy and said "I'm going back to Netflix and everyone in this store should too. You've got rid of every reason I ever had to remain with you." And I did. I've gone Blockbuster...dropped and went Netflix...dropped NF and went BB again, then had both at the same time, and now am back exclusively netflix. I've ridden this war well...lots of battlescars to tell you about.

And yes, Mulli. Netflix was a competitor to Blockbuster..they just rolled out a different delivery system.

Did BB does the home delivery thing like Netflix before Netflix? You have paid more attention to BB than I have. I hate em.
