Not once have I heard that he might never play in the NBA. Where did you hear that rumor? From what I've heard, the Suns are negotiating to bring him over this offseason.

He likely took this from a Elindholm comment on page 2 of this thread.

Ah, the connection to Milos Vujanic is starting to come full circle, just as I predicted. Soon, including "the rights to Bogdan" in trade scenarios will become this generation's running joke.

Well we've had his rights for some time and there have been little news about him being closer to sign. On the contrary I hear more indications that he'll wait at least another year. How many sources can you find that are specific or optimistic on him being here next year?

Why? He didn't do squat on Kentucky, and to me, he's pretty much the same player. No threat of an outside shot, not a playmaker for others, drive to the rim and pray. I take Hield or Dunn in a heartbeat over Goodwin.

He was a lot better than Hield or dunn were as freshman.

Yesterday I read an article where apparently a decision on whether he's coming over this summer will happen today. Makes sense, since his decision could affect who we draft tomorrow.

Yes but there was never any intention to bring him over the first 2 years and that was clear from the beginning. But the big difference is that he wanted to come to the NBA, it was Ryan that wanted him to stay and gain experience. Now though, who knows? We probably aren't as desirable of a location as we were even a few years ago so maybe he's re-thinking his plans.

The guy has won everything there is to win at a club level in Europe--not sure he has much incentive to stay in Europe if we are willing to take him now.

The only incentive for Bogdan to stay in Europe is the fact that he'd avoid playing on a rookie contract and could sign a Mirotic-type deal instead. Don't quote me on this, but I think after 3 years you can sign as a FA as opposed to a "rookie."

And that may be more incentive for the Suns to bring him over now.

I think thats the point. The Suns are pushing hard to bring him over now, but he wants to wait for the big pay day next year.

Right, exactly. On the flip side of that...they are so bad right now that he may actually be better off coming over now and getting some playing time instead of waiting for the Suns to get better and waiting for himself to be a year older. It's a crap shoot. It all depends on what he wants.

Bogdan Bogdanovic opted to stay with his Turkish club rather than joining the Suns for next season. Per Paul Coro

I can't believe there's an 8 page thread about a guy who's probably never going to play here and hasn't even set the world on fire where he's currently playing.

Um what?

He is a star here.

He will definitely come over next year, he just wont come over on a rookie scale contract now.

From the Suns perspective we might be more open to shopping his rights now.

Do you think he could be as good as Splitter?

Relative to the strength of the position he will play yes. Maybe even a little better.

But we will probably have to pay him something like 3yrs/15M$ next year to come over, which is still cheap by NBA standards then but it is 5x as much as the Suns could pay Bogdan today.

The only reason Bogdan is staying because if he came over this year he would be locked into a 4 year rookie contract starting at 900k. Next year he could sign for anything between 1M$-25M$ or so.

He decide to stay in Turkey. I hope we can keep him next year. Cuz he is really good shooter and become a new Peja in NBA.

And? Out of all the players that looked like world beaters in other leagues, that have come to the NBA, how many have been the same players? Very few.

I personally think he has potential for sure but I always have tempered expectations for players from other leagues. I would like to see what he can do myself in the NBA. You never know I guess.

These are some of my concerns and not sure if he will be able to gain the confidence to be a factor in the NBA.

Yeah but he's like 16 years old in that video.
