Boldin Trade Talks Heating Up

The front office has to be eating these trade rumors up. They can sit back watch the conjecture and filter trade offers all of which will diminish Qs value. If he were smart he'd go to periscope depth, play out this year at his best level and take what the market will bear at the end of the season. Unfortunately for him he missed his window by renegotiating his original contract. In retrospect he may have been better off waiting another year or so.
All said I believe he's in Cardinals red on opening day.

Its about position. Adam Vinateri is better at his position then Suggs is at his. Do you think they are trading Adam for Suggs? Not going to happen. You have to look at this from an asset perspective. Suggs is younger, plays a more important position, and never gets hurt. Boldin for Suggs isn't going to happen.

They are roughly the same age. We could have drafted both of them in the same draft if the Cards FO didn't try and get cute. It's going to be a matter of opinion as to which one is better unless of course you want to look at stats. Boldin has surpassed milestones faster than anyone in his position in almost every category. You can't say the same for Suggs, who by the way walked into a top notch defense and has benefitted his whole career playing alongside one of the greatest linebackers in the history of the game. Boldin did it while he stepped into a pile of crap. Even with injuries, Boldin puts up probowl numbers. Maybe you should temper your "never going to happen" remarks, because you are just like the rest of us and have no idea what will happen. Only the Cards can say what they will or will not accept.

Your take on Boldin's side is probably right. But I doubt the front office and Whisenhunt like the constant trade rumor distractions.

I dont think it matters to the front office or the coach one way or the other. They make the decisions and what these rumors are are just that...rumors. I dont think that this makes their job any more difficult since they hold are the cards (no pun intended) so there is no stress at all.

Rosenhaus has done these tactics of his so often that their effect is starting to wear thin. Rosenhaus for the most part has become his own worst enemy. If another agent where to do this with a player, the front office might be more disturbed. Rosenhaus pulling this stuff has the FO, the fans after they take it in perspective from the source, and most everybody else then go "Oh wait, that is just Rosenhaus being Rosenhaus" and the rumors become just that, rumors without much worth...heck we can take his latest BS of something getting done before training camp, go back to the draft where he said he was sure Boldin would get traded on day one and it goes on and on and on and on without ever getting anywhere but keep his player in the media but that position in the spotlight has become again another 'oh it's a Rosenhaus client, ya' right'.

Q is not resigning. At this point, I'd worry about AW and then move onto Rolle or Leinart. Either which way it's pointless to discuss because Graves can never handle more than one major deal per offseason.

Suggs is not more valuable than Q as stated -

IMO - player wise they are about the same - it comes down to contract.

The $ the Cards save with Q's contract free's them up to get other players. Suggs has to have a new deal now whereas Q has 2 years left at a minimal deal. Saving the Cards around 7 mill per year.

I have been wondering what his true value may be. I think he'd be most effective as an undertackle in a 4-3. If he were playing that position and were able to consistantly garner 7-10 sacks per season (or if a team thought he could) then I would suppose a team would use a first on him. His Superbowl performance really had to help alot. You dont trip and fall on three sacks in any game, especially a SB. IIRC, the only reason he fell in the draft was character concerns and he has proven himself to be responsible and accountable
