Yep I think it was a poorly kept secret but more great news for the Pac 12.

If UCLA gets the class people are talking about UA and UCLA in 2012 and 2013could both be national contenders.

UCLA is looking at 2 possibly 3 top 10 national players(if you believe that Tony Parker might bypass TOSU and Duke for UCLA). My guess is no to Parker but still a great chance at two top 10 guys plus Adams, Artis and some more and 2013 looking really good.

UA has a monster 2012 class and Dave Telep says Nate Britt visited UA Sunday (PG to replace Turner if he leaves). With the 2013 kids UA is in on both could be loaded.

And UW might have the best 2013 class in the country if they really get both Jabari Parker and Aaron Gordon.

Miller is the man. #1 recruiting class in 2012 after just 2 years. Not to mention a Top 2 draft pick and Elite 8 appearence.

I cannot be more proud of the job he has done. As an alum, I was concerned who the successor of Lute would be; as my expectations for Zona hoops are very high. If Miller stays with UofA long-term and wins a championship or two, he will supplant Lute as the most legendary coach ever in Arizona; however, we cannot thank coach Lute enough for laying the foundation for the tremendous success that will undoubtedly ensue.

How we ended up with Sean Miller is mind-boggling in retrospect but whatever. He's going to win national championships in Tucson before he's done. It's crazy but he took the job a little over two years ago and the roster at that time consisted solely of Brendon Lavender, Alex Jacobsen, Kyle Fogg, DJ Shumpert, and Garland Judkins. Pretty unbelievable now that he is literally drowning in top recruits and future NBA players.

The job Sean Miller has done in the last 2 years has been phenomenal, better than anyone could have expected. This class could be Arizona's best if Tarcewski pledges, this should be the #1 class.

Eh, probably. Not really thinking much about college hoops these days, even when we win, the style of play is pretty boring, and college basketball in general is pretty putrid. (Admittedly, the Cats style is better than most) That being said, between the ridiculous shot clock and the general lack of talent/quality of play, it's pretty hard to get excited.

The championship game itself really encapsulated everything that's wrong with college basketball, without a doubt the worst championship game of any sport period I've ever seen.

Eh, probably. Not really thinking much about college hoops these days, even when we win, the style of play is pretty boring, and college basketball in general is pretty putrid. (Admittedly, the Cats style is better than most) That being said, between the ridiculous shot clock and the general lack of talent/quality of play, it's pretty hard to get excited.

The championship game itself really encapsulated everything that's wrong with college basketball, without a doubt the worst championship game of any sport period I've ever seen.

Last couple years were somewhat of an aberration due to the one and done rule that screwed college hoops and some weak years in talent. You don't have to look much further than he 2008 NCAA Tournament where several perennial All Stars and a glut of NBA players performed. When the NBA settles it will be a 2 or 3 year mandatory stay in college so the product will only improve.

And for the record I went to the Fiesta Bowl and the BCS game last year and neither were exactly barnburners.

Yep, while I definitely enjoy college sports a ton, the quality of play in the professional ranks is just so much better. The one advantage college sports has is the sophistication level of the crowds, but other than that, professional sports are markedly superior.

Hopefully you're predictions RE: college hoops come true, and college football can get their heads out of their collective ass and come up with a decent playoff format. Knowing what a joke the NCAA is, I'm pessimistic.

Yep, I was a Cards and ASU season ticket holder for the first couple years of the new stadium, and decided to give one up. It was an easy choice. Literally every NFL game I went to there were fights in the stands, fights in the parking lot, one car intentionally ramming another, it was just insane. I agree, I would never take a kid anywhere near an NFL game, you have way too many people getting hammered and looking for fights.

As an event, college football games are far superior. Went to Wisconsin for the ASU game last year, and that game certainly covered all you discussed above, and most fans were educated and polite. I'm going to 2 away games this year, UCLA and Illinois, can't wait.

Disagree. Like pro sports better then college when you take the bias of the teams out of it.

I would rather watch a meaningless NBA game then some WAC or Big 10 basketball game. Same goes with the NFL.

I like watching the best players and coaches in the world. Those are the pros.

Now saying that my sports passions go:

Cardinal Football
UA Basketball
Suns Basketball
Diamondbacks Baseball
UA Football

But thats because of the teams and the connection I feel with which one. Not the entire sport as a whole.

Of course an ASU fan is going to say college baskeball is boring, their program has been terrible for years and they don't support it. Nothing beats March Madness and until college football gets a playoff system in place, it will remain the best three weeks in college sports.

I can't wait to see who Miller gets next. It's amazing how fast he has the Cats back on top. You don't see this too often.
