Since it is going to be a topic for a while. Do we trade him, or no? If so, for what?

I say yes. I also say that I trade him for a vet or picks. I really do not want another young player with a development agenda. We have enough young ones right now to develop with more picks on the way. We trade him for a quality vet glue guy type of player (Dudley type).

We just lost a veteran guy in Tucker, which is a blessing to let the other guys develop. I'm glad Price is gone, miss his heart but we need this group to grow together.

Knight looks great in his new role, I hope he accepts it and i could see the potential in him to thrive.

I wanted to see him traded before training camp but he seems settled into his role and willing to play it out. Of course, depending on how the team does that could change quickly. I'm not sure what to seek in return except maybe a solid center. Someone like Vucevic from Orlando would be a good addition and fill the role we hoped Len would grow in to. That would allow Chandler to move to the bench, where if he's not happy he can be moved also.

Would rather have Okafor over Noel...even though Okafor is a complete head-case.

I'd be OK with either. Noel is better defensively and on the boards, but Okafor has an amazing low-post game.

I'm not a huge fan of either of the Philly players being discussed but I'd certainly trade Knight for Okafor straight up. I might even include a pick but not a real valuable one. If that isn't enough, I'd keep Knight until we got an offer in that neighborhood.

And I think painting Okafor as a complete head case is a bit of an exaggeration. He's crossed the line several times in his short stint in the NBA but none of them are way over the line and alcohol seems to be a common factor in each of them. Moving to a winning situation might also benefit him although it remains to be seen whether we'll be a winning situation. I think we will, especially if add an effective low post scorer, but who knows.

I think Ulis is ready for serious minutes, or at least ready to learn while playing those minutes. No amount of sitting on the bench is going to make him taller and everything else he needs can be learned on the fly. I didn't really understand the Barbosa signing, not really sure where he fits in for us and our youth movement.

Oddly. Adding another young big man makes OUR front court crowded.

I agree with you on all counts, though I am a fan of Okafor and Noel. At least, I am a fan of them (especially Okafor) when compared to what we currently have (Len.) As far as Barbosa is concerned, I don't think that signing (or Dudley, for that matter) was a basketball signing. They were brought in for veteran leadership. Extensions of Watson is what I see them as. Their history with the team is probably another factor.

Interesting scenario, PHX giving up Goodwin & Knight and receiving Capela, McDaniels, 1st round pick (HOU) & 2nd round pick (PHI). Obviously, creates a front court log jam for us.

And it doesn't really make sense to me either. I'd think Noel would fit a little better in Phoenix than Houston. More importantly though, Knight looks like a perfect fit for D'antoni and a horrible fit in Philadelphia.

I don't understand that trade unless the Suns are REALLY high on Capella. Picks don't look all that enticing to me either.

Capela is probably the best fit for the team of everyone mentioned and he'd make slin happy because he's fairly athletic. He gets up and down the floor fast and he's a pretty prolific rebounder at both ends. He scores about the same as Noel and Len but he turns the ball over at half the rate they do. We need a lot fewer TO's so shedding Knight and gaining Capela gives us double improvement. Defensively... well, he's skinny but he doesn't get pushed around as easily as you'd think from looking at him. His defense at the rim is right there with Noel, Len and Okafor percentage wise.

I wouldn't mind trading Knight for Capela, he makes sense for us. But he makes sense for Houston too, far more than Noel does IMO. I just don't see any way that there is even a hint of reality in this supposed rumor.

I think any deal which has us acquiring a center whether it be Noel, Okafor or Capela, we will also be shipping Len out in either the same deal or another.

I doubt the Suns will be ok with going Chandler, Len and another guy who needs heavy minutes all at center. Plus with this being a contract year for him, I'm sure Len is going to want a good amount of minutes.

I am not sure about this. Maybe having some real young competition on the roster would light more of a fire under Len. If he doesn't step up, then he can step away.

KIngs might need Knight. Not sure what they have to give.

Nothing we would want except Cousins but would he disrupt (corrupt) team chemistry plus he would cost a lot more than Knight. Maybe a 3-way with another team with better assets.

Yea, Kings wouldn't give up Cousins because then what's the point of even trying to get a PG to compete if they give up their best player. Wouldn't make much sense.

They are not going to compete anyway. They have to rebuild. They have Cousins and Gay and some marginal young players (Labissiere, WCS, McLemore). They do not have first round picks in 2017 and 2019 and another team has the option of swapping their pick in 2018. Their cupboard is bare. The only way ahead for that team is to trade their best asset (Cousins) for the best package of young players and picks that they can. Knight is 24 and signed to a long term reasonable (for today's market) contract. If they can get other young players and picks, they have a start to rebuild.
