Another article...

The bottom line is if he was indeed invovled this way, including chasing a man into the kitchen to tackle and beat him when he was no way invovled with anything, that is a SERIOUS allegation, and I think shows he may have deeper issues here...

Orginally when there was an incident in his group you could give him a pass, but if he was chasing people kicking and punching while his group was stabbing people, screw him, I don't want him here...

Let him ruin someone elses lockeroom...

And assuming the NFL can confirm this story, combined with his DUI earlier there is no way he isn't suspended the first 2-4 games of the season... no way...

1. The relationship to the timing of the new CBA, and that the season starts as of Thursday for FA's may have a bearing.

2. It's unlikely that The Commisioner will be judge, jury and executioner under the new agreement (new disciplinary procedures were negotiated in past few days) so there may be a new appeals process.

All of this may have a bearing but, that said, based on the initial report of this incident, I would certainly pass on him.

funny thing is....technically, he was unemployed when these events occurred....so while the league may refrain from re hiring him,....can they really discipline him for this?? Seams a half way decent attorney could win a suit against the league on that premise.

and the new appeals process calls for an independent arbitrator right?

If Edwards was involved in the fight, why didn't the bouncers tell police that night? Sounds like a shakedown.

There seems to be something going on that we don't know about. If he was that directly involved and had witnesses than he would have been charged right there and then.

It doesn't add up

I think that many of us are overlooking the fact that this is guy is a thug and want the Cards to sign him as he can be our #2 WR. He does have the talent but really he does face suspension. Old man Bidwill would never have allowed the Cards to sign someone like him.

We are not desperate for another WR. IMO pass on him.

Any contract should be signed in the presence of Arizona's famous / infamous Sheriff Joe.

And we all know how successful the Cards were when Bill Sr. was running the club.

So you don't care about the type of player that represents the Cardinals on the field? We each have our own opinion for sure.

As I mentioned before, if he is that stupid to sign a 1 year deal to have Alex Smith throw to him, he deserves everything that is coming for him...

Worst career move since Haynesworth signed with the Redskins

Sure just do a google search with the name Braylon Edwards and look at all the legal problems that he has been involved with off the field.

I asked you to define thug, not give me an example of one. Hey but if you want to call him a thug more power to you. I don't agree with you as the worst you could possibly say about him is that he punched someone. Yes he had a speeding ticket and DUI. I don't condone any of his behavior, but I am always curious when people are so quick to label someone they really don't know.

Hey he isn't a saint perhaps, but he is a damn good football player. Not all of them are doing to do everything you love. Their not going to be sitting at home. Their going to be out and about and probably are going to be in places that you or I would not approve of. I didn't grow up in their environment and I don't know what it is like to have hangers on... so it's hard for me to judge and say when or where he was. All I know for sure is that I did some stupid things in my day and am glad I wasn't famous when I did them.

I dont care about him being a thug or any other label, and I really dont care about this incident, sounds like it wasn't that big of a deal and the guys who were hurt will probably get a huge settlement.

My issue with Braylon is just that he's already in trouble and he's RIGHT in the middle of trying to get one last big contract. So what does it say about him that he's out in the city, partying, fighting, tweeting...

He just doesn't sound like he has very good judgement or much common sense.

But hey, if he gets through all this and can still play and can somehow manage to keep himself out of trouble, I'm all for it.

Its definitely a risk, though he does have a lot of friends here, maybe it's just what he needs.

Braylon could help us even more by signing with the Niners and then inevitably imploding with more off-the-field crap.

Yeah and thats the same thing people said would happen with Crabtree in SF or Mike Williams in Seattle until they go out and torch us. Come on be realistic.

nah Clif, everyone torched us last season mostly because a lack of a pass rush. I will agree you on the Mike Williams scenario 100% but Crabtree was never really a threat to be a problem with the law at least and in my opinion ubnlike Williams, Crabtree is over over over rated coming out of college- a average WR at best in the NFL...matter of fact, I would take Roberts or Doucet over him.
