I watched the first 3 seasons on Netflix, then downloaded season 4.

Now that I'm up-to-date, I can read the thread. lol

Also, does anyone else get...distracted...by the way they show the opening credits?

I mean, when they roll all I see is:

Bromine Cranston, Sodium Gunn, Argon Paul, Nitrogen Norris, Beryllium Brandt, RJ Tellurium, etc.

I called and complained and was finally put through to their loyality program rep.
The first person you talk with has no clue what you are talking about so just keep complaining until they transfer you.
They are sending me a Roku Box and crediting my Dish bill for the purchase of the full Breaking Bad season.

Awesome. Squeaky wheels unite!

Finished watching season 3. Holy Crow this show is good.

Saul was awesome once again. Some of the best lines are definitely reserved for him.

Indeed, Saul takes the show to another level.

I finally got through all three seasons of the show. Some thoughts:

- Hank is the only one who has kept a clean slate (compared to everyone else on the show). He even maintained his honor by telling the truth when he could have easily lied and saved his butt. Somehow, at the end of this series, I think he's the one that has to deliver justice for everyone, but I suspect that justice will be filtered through the prism of pragmatic relativism, not some over-arching truth.

- Somehow I find Skyler the character in most need of redemption. I really disliked her at first. Now I absolutely hate her. She holds contempt for Hank but not Ted? What a hypocrite. Even as I thought she was coming around, she still showed how much of a royal bitch she is. so full of judgment, no interest in listening to her husband of who knows how many years. When the show first started I thought the sister was supposed to be this character, but Skyler skyrocketed to the top as the character I kind of wish would just get knocked off or undergo some kind of quick and serious redemption. I'm not really finding any value in her now. She's just an agitant. I've been in her exact position, and I found her total lack of patience or even an ounce of intuition and compassion to show a very rotten character flaw.

- The scene where Jane dies. I wish someone had warned me about that. That hit way too close to home. Not a similar situation, but ... let's just say the FX guys definitely did their homework for drug overdose. That put me in an emotional tailspin for a couple of days. Couldn't watch the show for awhile.

- Overall, the show is everything I could ask for in television. It's powerful, it's compelling, it's honest. The characters are vivid and believable. But I can't say the show is satisfying. I'm on this journey and, after three seasons, I'm not sure it's a catharsis I want to experience. The moral relativism, constant justification ... it puts me in a position of rooting for people to accomplish things I just do not agree with. My commitment to the show is in jeopardy because of it. Maybe I've finally found a show that's just too dark for me.

Good stuff. The bolded part is one of my favorite things about watching movies/tv.

good episode. but nothing earth shattering.

the moment at the end with Walt and Skyler was pretty freaking chilling though.

I thought it was damn good. The scene in the beginning when he closes the trunk. Then they just leave us hanging. Brilliant IMO.

Well at least Skyler lost some of the fat from last year, and we know who survived, so far.

I happen to like Skyler's "baby fat". :D

It was pretty good, but I believe it's going to take a couple of episodes to reestablish things since the season 4 finale wrapped everything up pretty much.

Another thought is that Marie may pop up a bit more in this. Seems to be fed up with Hank and she has that klepto psycho thing in her inventory. She may get a bit dark and end up in Walt's new gang.

Hmmm. In the breakfast diner.

Walt is turning 52; a fact displayed as he crunches up his bacon and forms the number on his plate, just as Skyler did for him when he turned 50.

BTW, 1 down and 15 episodes to go.

Went back and watched it.

Jesse has two daddies. The whole show is going Greek. Odysseus, anyone?

and Skyler looks scared poopless cowering in their bed as Walter does a back door. Enter Marie next week.

Walt reminds me of a kid that lived down the street from me. Used to get picked on by the big kids all the time, until one day he just loses it and goes mental on all of them. After that, all the kids were afraid of him for a spell and he ate that up. Got too big for his britches and got his jaw broken by a new bully that didn't know (or buy or whatever) his reputation. That kid was so damaged after that, the family had to move out of state to get him away from the neighborhood.
