Where is this being mentioned
Message boards, there's no guarantee it happens. Apparently Felix saw his snaps decrease throughout the season, getting 10 or fewer snaps in 11 games. Then he was a healthy scratch throughout the playoffs, despite one of their starting DEs going down.

Felix has had a bad camp and the general sentiment is the only reason he will make the 53 is if some of the edge rushers start the season on IR. Bringing more competition for him seems like a bad omen.

Goes to show that the teams that have been well run for years don't have to rely on rookies. The Chiefs won the Superbowl without their 1st round pick doing anything.

Myjai Sanders and Thomas were both fairly well-regarded prospects coming out and Gannon and his staff couldn’t get anything out of either.

Yeccch.
Sanders is available! No one has picked him up since the Texans released him in April. No one taking a shot at even working him out during the off season is quite an endorsement of his talent. I'm just glad we cut our loses when we did.

Speaking of highly regarded prospects we dumped for trash, the Giants beat reporters are starting to realize what type of player Simmons is. This article is a fun piece of deja vu

Let’s get factual here.

1. Pass-rusher is without doubt the weakest position on the team.
2. Cam Thomas gave us a glimp of hope with good play in the Two last Pre-season games.
3. He was still 4th Or 5th on the depth chart in everyone’s view

What Does the Trade indicate?
1. Coaching staff liked the other players over Thomas
2. The back-up pass-rusher group could Actually be Above par in the league
3. The issue on the team is still the High-end group of pass-rushers and Thomas was not evaluated to make Any difference on that.

Another team gave up a 7th rounder for a guy that wasn’t going to make the Cardinals. That would be an indication
Or it could be an indication a team thinks they can do better than the Cards developing a guy, or it likely means the Chiefs think he would be better playing in a different defense, like most of us have thought for a season or two.

Be honest. Do you actually think we have an above average edge room? You get how ridiculous the thought is, yeah?

I look at it this way, maybe he struggled against our massively talented second and third string Oline in practice. Add to it he is probably more suited to a true 4-3 De position and he just wasn't a fit. It will be interesting to see how he performs in KC.

Are you even Reading What I’m writing?
I’m starting twice that the passrush situation is bad.

We have a #1 in Collins that is a huge question mark and we basicly have no clue if he can ever become a passrusher and is a qualified #1,#2 Or #3

Our #2 Gardeck would be the ideal #3 and should only be in pure passrush situations. Too small to be on the field for an extended time.

Or #3 is a rookie with huge questions Marks and shouldn’t be more than a #4 to develop into a #2 Or #3.

Our #4, #5 and #6 are solid OLB back-ups with limited pass rush ceiling. My point was that our #6 was good enough to be a #4 on another team.
That Doesn’t change that the passrush situation is a shitshow - But the cause is the top of the room, not the buttom of the room

I thought Thomas was decent in the preseason games. Had trouble finishing but was able to get pressure. Not sure what they saw in practice but he showed well in the games even if vs. backups.
