I agree but I wrote this several times yesterday that with this Oline A. Peterson looked old, washed up & finished trying to run behind it last year. He looks like a different player with Washington with already 3 100 yrs games. This line is even worse this year thus making DJ look like hot garbage. Major ungrades are needed.
I don't disagree but a good scheme and the right piece in the right place can make a unit do a 180. Look at the Rams. They went from hot garbage under Fisher to McVay and a twilight years Whitworth to dominant.

Not saying it will definitely be the case but the o-line may not be as bad off as it has seemed. Ok, not as hard to fix.

Aikman said on the broadcast what we fans have been saying as well:

"this was a top 6 defense last year" "they changed from a 3/4 to a 4/3 and it hasn't gone well"

the offense has been bad not just relative to the rest of the NFL, but the rest of the NFL over the last 20 years ---

its taken attention away from a defense that is a shell of its 2017 self with mostly the same personnel.

Fingers crossed.

I don't think this move will affect the win loss record this season. But it just might help keep our young RB and QB from having a mental breakdown and being broken beyond repair.

wins and losses almost don't matter anymore

I view the remainder of this season as simply an extended 2019 preseason-- with the sole focus being getting Rosen up the learning curve, and, finding out what you have on this roster

Keim said on KTAR this morning that he has confidence in Wilks and likes his passion. I was like, "what freaking passion?" I don't think Wilks is going anywhere ... sadly.
Well that's depressing

We still have some massive problems, especially with our 4-3 zone, lack of OL, a HC over his head, and a GM that is on thin ice, but this was the most glaring issue, and a start.

Had to happen. Took too long. This needs to be just the beginning, but don’t expect much more until post-season. Then Wilks needs to be gone. Keim too.

Maybe Keim will be next. Let's hope that Wilks is the sword that Keim dies on.

Can Leftwich improve the blocking? I want to see them run an effective screen pass for once. Something they claimed to be working on this past PS.

He can change the scheme or pkaycallo g to be less blocking-dependent. And as crazy as that phrase sounds in football, it’s possibke with misdirection, screens, stretching the field to force defenses to stretch outta the box and keep them off balance. In the long run to truly succeeds you need to block effectively but when you can’t you have to pull out all the tricks and not just bash your running back into the teeth of the stacked defense repeatedly. It’s like McCoy thought the cardinals were rocky balboa taking punishment for the first 15 games but were going to somehow knockout the entire nfl in game 16!

Just smoke. All will be evaluated after the next nine games. If they aren't competitive/playing hard, then wholesale changes will be made. Regardless of circumstances. Wilks' Cardinals have to show pride, a pulse and some nastiness.

It took an entire off season, 4 preseason games and 7 regular season games to come to the conclusion McCoy was a problem. Brilliant.
