Jim McMahon. There was no bigger "star" at the position in Chicago (that's not to say "better," just "star").

It might be said he was a star for his persona just as much as his play of the field.

Umm Jim McMahon was a star and they did win a Superbowl. This should be interesting to see how it plays out although I believe Denver made out like bandits in the deal! Think Denver will be a better team before Chicago. I am not really a big Cutler fan though think he's an arrogant punk that hasn't done anything to be tossing around his authority like he is some kind of star!

Exactly what Elway did before playing a down in the NFL. :)

McMahon winning a Super Bowl? The defense and the running game won it. Is that debatable?

Trent Dilfer was a star.

A bird in hand is better than two in the bush...

The Bears have a player at the most important position, and the Broncos have to hope they can draft players that contribute. Additionally, they may have to use one of the first round picks, plus a third to move up and find their QBOF in this years draft, according to the NFL Network gurus.

Maybe McDaniels realized quickly his bird in hand wasn't what some think it is! Maybe your QB needs to have more than a strong arm! Maybe the most important position on the field needs to be a LEADER which Cutler has not shown he can be! There is more to it than having a strong arm imo Cutler lacks the leadership quality which is very vital in that role in the NFL. Ever watch him yell and degrade his teammates on the field? Don't see too many of them commenting negatively in the press about him being traded away, think that speaks volumes on how well he was liked.

I saw McDanials in an interview on TV. He was 2000 miles away and on TV and his persona oozed *****. He to me has to be the the worst first impressions guy ever. He just looks, sounds, and acts like an *****.

I think it's a great move for both teams.

Orton isn't bad, but he isn't good enough to lead them to a win. He may be better in Denver.

Cutler is pretty good, but we will see how he handles the trade and the change.

Good bets for both sides, I follow the Bears and I'm excited to see what Cutler can do.

And his handling of the whole situation was pretty poor, IMHO. Cutler I expected to handle the situation with some immaturity - he's 25 - the coach seemingly bullshitting everyone = classless.

Oh he comes off as an ***** huh kinda like Belichek? Cutler needs to grow up its a business your a teams property if thye want to shop you they have the right to do so. Denver imo will end up being the winner of this trade. Cutler is way overhyped what exactly has he done? Ever? Strong arm doesn't equal great QB, personally don't think Cutler will ever do much.

Yeah, you're right. Cutler was a slave to the Broncos organization. Wait a minute, before anyone flies off the handle, I didn't say that. Nashman said it. Cutler is nothing more than 'property'. I guess he doesn't feel or react like a normal person.

Let's take a little stroll through history, shall we? One year, Coach X was hired by Team Y. Team Y was a veteran team with a solid vet at QB (albeit a vet that had proven he could win). Coach X walked in, acted like a total ass, tore the team apart, and ran the vet QB out of town on a rail. Coach X? Yeah, Bill Douche-i-check. Team Y? The Browns. How'd that work out for ya, Cleveland? Let's re-examine McDaniels' douchebagery now, please.

McMahon was no HoFer, but he was better than people give him credit for (pre-Martin mugging).

And yes, his Star was due just as much to his persona as his play, but in the context of the original post I replied to it's relevant. That poster said for the star power alone the trade was worth it, implying that aside from the on-the-field play, the draw and excitement from Cutler is important.

Yeah Stout I compared him to a slave are you kidding with this crap? As a player he is under THEIR contract thus if they want to explore trades they have the right, he as a player in professional sports should know this happens, suck it up don't be a big douche bag cry baby and demand a trade! Now he got what he wants you think his attitude is going to be better? No he thinks he can cry and piss and moan and get his way sounds like Chicago got a gem! Denver will be better off without him and quite frankly will probably still be a better team than Chicago this year!

Bears send firsts this year and next. A third this year and Kyle Orton.

Bears get Jake Utler and a Denver 5th.

AM 620 had it right yesterday as that is what they reported. Two first. They did make some mention of Orton but that may have been negotiated out of the deal. How does a little staton like AM 620 scoop the big boys.
