This was being reported on Spurs sites--news stations say he will be waived tomorrow because they made some other deal today.

Don't they want him back to San Antonio?

Barry still has some game left, but he'll go back to the Spurs, I can pretty much guarantee. He already has a role there and they are obviously strong title contenders.

The fans want him back.

For some reason--don't know about Pop. Brent has been on the brink of being traded for years.

I guess only time will tell.

Do you think Kerr will try to sign BB?

So, in order to go back to the Spurs, doesn't he have to sit out 30 days? And he's hurt now anyway? No better scenario to rest and be ready for the playoffs.

Hmmmm, I smell a Stackhouse....

how many years? this is only his 3rd year there.

The Spurs resigning Barry was obviously the plan all along. I don't understand how this is allowed. Can someone explain to me this "Gary Payton" rule. I thought that rule outlawed this, but obviously that rule is deals with something else.

I can't see Barry going back to San Antonio. Cuban will have a seizure and spontaneously combust. I'd think Stern would have to nix it.

All Barry has to do is a few workouts, field a few offers, etc. Then "decide" that the Spurs are the best situation for him.

Stack didn't work out because of his big mouth.

Cuban would play the martyr, and the "Sterns" conspiracy would grow.

Of course he would, Barry IS Kerr.

This quote reminds me of Terrell Owens. Maybe we should sign T.O. up for the rest of the season. He's got some B-Ball skills and can liven up the end of the bench better than anyone else. Plus, he could sell a lot of Suns' 81 jerseys for $arver.

I can hear him crying now defending Steve Nash: "(Sniff sniff) That's my point guard (sniff sniff)".

Get your popcorn ready...

Just my personal opinion, I don't think the Spurs would do that after the Stackhouse incident.

And also just my personal opinion, I don't like Barry because his poor defence. If we have signed Linton Johnson, we should let him play. Remember, D'antoni will probably stick to a rotation of 8 in playoff anyway.

My opinion was they were inspired by the Stackhouse idea.

my opinion was this is another case of "if we can get away with it, we would" type of thing...

i don't see any reasonable reason for the league to stop stackhouse re-signing, but if this was rejected, there's no way this barry thing should be allowed otherwise the league would lose what is left of it's credibility...

The league has credibility? I thought they lost the last shred somewhere between Tim Donaghy and the waffling on the ban on casino gambling for officials.

Yeah unfortunately I have to give Stern an A+ for making the Donaghy-worst-blunder-in-sports-history incident so short lived. Steroids and animal abuse took the front seat for some reason beyond my comprehension.

With Barry injured and no timetable on his return, I doubt the Suns would even make him an offer. I read somewhere there was interest, but I don't know if that was just speculation. I agree Barry is most likely to go back to SA.

How about Barry's play-off eligibility if he resigns with Sterns after 30 days ? Isn't there something about signing before 1st march ?

also seems that Rockets are interested in him

I think we were after Barry when the Spurs first signed him so I think we will more than likely try to sign him again and drop Johnson asap.
