Rare a team can hire a coach of the year candidate (or favorite). That's what the #Cardinals did with the hire of Bruce Arians.

Great quote.

Arians does not = Wiz.

Arians compared to,Wiz:

- Better at developing QB's

- Less Coachspeak

- Warmer

What we don't know is which coach better adjusts to unforeseen problems and fixes them, but it's 50-50 it isn't Wiz.

We also know he embraces and relies on veteran leadership, which could mean a lot to Adub and Ddock.

If Horton goes, I'm not that worried. Others on the staff were already mentioned to be promoted to DC, if Horton got the HC gig anyway. I know that Ray Lewis probably already has a gig lined up with the evil 4 letter, but I'd be on him as a possible position coach/team motivator in a heartbeat.

Not excited. Steeler fans think he was a stubborn, pass-happy OC. Sound familiar?

Also, say "bye" to Horton. Doesn't sound like Arians is going to keep him. Say "hi" to Todd Bowles.

I wanted a young, innovative OC, not a 60-year-old first-time full-time head coach whose been passed over for years as HC.

Also hate, absolutely hate, the idea of another ex-Steeler.

Hope I'm wrong.

Hmmm....Arians is a bald white guy, Keim is a bald white guy, if Mike B shaves his head, we could call them the Arian Brotherhood. :)

One thing that doesn't bother me is his age. Isn't Tom Coughlin 102?

I think this is a very good hire. The guy is experienced and was a potential coach of the year guy. He worked with some of the best and I am sure he will try to get his own horse in here soon.

I was thinking it would be sorda funny if they brought in a guy named Arians and the first thing he did was fire Horton.

"Why'd you fire the black man, Larry?" <--Curb Your Enthusiasm joke

Old rumor, dismissed by agent

Also keep in mind that he went 9-3 as interim HC

Perception not based in reality it would seem.

Rankings in pass attempts per season:
2007 - 31st
2008 - 20th
2009 - 19th
2010 - 27th
2011 - 19th

The guy is about as balanced as it comes in a pass happy NFL.

Good creds & very solid coach, but...

IMO it's not hard to be a successful coach when you have Rapistberger, Manning & Luck as your QBs. Lets see just how good he is with Moe, Larry & Curley that are on the Cards roster. Hopefully a young stud will soon be added.

Bears announce assistant coaches Mike Tice, Bob Babich, Jeremy Bates, Mike DeBord, Darryl Drake, Tim Holt and Tim Spencer won't be back.

And maybe we still get Mike Tice

To kinda make it better. He came into the Steeler AFTER Cowher, Whiz, Grimm, etc. left.

So, he is not the same as Whiz.

But, true, he is very pass happy. Which after bringing Whiz here and expecting a power run game, and getting his "system", at least I know where Arians stands on offense.

Super stoked on this hire and now have hope for great things to come. MB took his time and came away from this potential debacle smelling like a rose. Man! I cant wait for next season!!!

Awesome. A joeshmo post. But don't you know the fans perception is always correct no matter what the stats etc show? :D

The job Ariens did as the stand in HC this year was amazing. Sure he had Luck but that team was a mess the year before and Luck was a rookie.

If Horton is retained then I'm very happy with the hire.

Why people don't want ex Steelers on this team amazes me. Probably the best run Organization over the past 40 years in the entire league.

Whiz helped get us to a SB but he sucks.

Horton, well now he is the next coming and I don't disagree but he is from the Steelers Org.

Haggans played well for us his entire time here.

Grimm started off strong and many here were afraid we would lose him to a HC spot.

Morey was always a strong contributor.

Spencer has done a fantastic job pretty much his entire tenure here.

Yes there were the Porter and Oliver Ross busts but I believe there has been more positive then bad.

I expect to see vastly improved QB play.

Dismissed by whose agent? Bowles'?

It doesn't matter.

It is an agent, who is a salesmen for his client. I would trust it as much as any other source that was given over the last three days.

I will tell you the next Cardinal DC, it is going to be the guy they announce within the next few days.

Hope its still Horton, and the same doubts of sources about agents and Bowles can be used about Horton not being happy.
