Sigh.. he doesn’t want to be here.. trade him away.. we don’t deserve someone like him here.. the one guy who would give you everything and you refuse to pay him to be on the sinking ship..
He is getting paid. 14M a year is good money, even for the NFL. We dont know what he is asking. If he upset about the guarantee money, why did sign the contract?

And you know this because you talk with Budda and Dhop. All we have is rumors about why they want to be traded. Maybe they want a new contract or just guaranteed money or maybe they don't want to be part of a rebuild. Nobody knows the real truth.
The actual report, which is in this thread says he asked for a new contract in February. His current deal, just like Hop is salary only and has zero guaranteed money left.

These guys all make more money than they need to ever spend, but in addition to that most just want to win. And some just hate losing so much they will do anything to get away from a losing environment. I find it hard to believe any good player would ever want to sign a second contract with the Cards. They would have to be okay with losing to want to stick around. And the irony of that is who would want a player as a teammate who was okay with losing.

I think I’m in the minority here but I’m not a fan of this type of behavior by players. He was rewarded when he signed the contract and was at that point the highest paid safety. Now that the contact has years left where there isn’t fully guaranteed money you request a trade?

Look I love Budda as much as anyone but idk that continuing to dump that kind of money into the safety position is a winning recipe. And honestly Jalen Thompson is pretty dang good, and you could probably insert Simmons to play safety.

Don’t hear what I’m not saying, I want him on the team. But if players don’t want to be here then I think you let them walk. I also question how much longer his smaller frame will hold up. Unfortunately it is what it is.

Why would Budda be worried about a non-guaranteed contract? He just played his age 26 season, he is easily seeing the end of that contract. No chance he's cut...

It seems to be what just about everyone does. What's he get, if he's injured week 1, with no guarantees?

Didn't he know that when he signed the contract? If players are only concerned about guaranteed money, why do they sign contracts with unguaranteed money. Both of them are making good money, even by NFL standards.

Maybe you should ask him why he signed the contract.

The organization had 2 months to try and trade him or give him more money. Him requesting a trade lowers his trade value. Just like the DHop mess we are in. This just goes to show how the organization is running like crap.

The organization is a sinking ship for next couple of years. Who is the face of the franchise? The fan favorite? Its not Kyler thats for sure. Paying him big the next 2 years while we are rebuilding is not going to hurt us. You pay the man more money now to be the face of your franchise while the ship is sinking and wasting his prime years or trade him and have no 1. We are going to look like the Suns years ago with pictures of Marcin Gortat's in front of the arena like he was someone the fans got behind.

I can see many people argue back and forth on Kyler. I am not even sure I seen any complain about Buddha. Guy is clearly the fan favorite with his dedication and how he plays.

It was reported he was wanting a new contract and more money. The Cardinals had 2 months to pay him or trade him but did nothing.

Burns and Gambo said he had this request back in Feb.
From Budda's point of view this is logical and I agree with him. Want him to beat his brains out on a 1 or 2 win team to be a role model in the prime of his career? Pay him. This is a business and he doesn't have to be a saint. Don't pay him? Then trade him so he has a chance to win.

I agree with ya. I wouldn’t want to waste my prime years with a sinking ship but if you pay me very well then yea I will ride it out with ya.

Whats bothers me is how the organization didn't/couldn't make something happen in the last 2 months. When players are not happy and want out their trade value is going down.

If your all-pro players don’t want to be here maybe question the leadership

Yes. And I know 14 million is a lot of money from normal person point of view. But there is nothing normal about how the NFL pays players.
