Whiz sucked, but hey, when given a roster with major holes on D and the OL and no QB no coach is going to look good. Did Whiz assemble this roster or the FO?

Dewin the Dew...

What I think---because of how awful the Cardinals played this year---we have lost sight of how much talent there really is on this roster.

Look at it this way:

On offense:

2 1,000 yard WRs in Fitz and Breaston...an All-Pro in Fitz.

2 RBs capable of being more than 1,000 yard rushers.

A LT who was a top 5 pick in the draft.

A LG who went to 9 consecutive Pro Bowls

A C and RG who played very well in the playoffs and Super Bowl.

On defense:

3 returning Pro Bowlers in Wilson, Dockett and DRC.

A FS who was---just a couple of years ago---and AP All-Pro selection.

A WOLB in Joey Porter who---until this year---was a double digit sack rusher.

A DE in Calais Cambell who has Pro Bowl talent.

A NT and ILB in Dan Williams and Daryl Washington who were All Americans and bona fide talents.

On STs...

A kicker who made almost everything this year.

A punter who was All-World last year.

A return man in LSH who is lightning in a bottle and a real pest on the cover teams.

This is THE most talented roster---save the QB position---the Cardinals have EVER had.

We just don't see it because of how poorly they were coached.

A LT who was a top 5 pick in the draft.

A guy who was a worse pick than Wendall Bryant.

Still can't believe the Cards let Leonard Davis go for nothing. Passed on Adrian Peterson and then drafted Leonard Davis.

And in one of the most incredible moves of all time make the same mistake they made with Davis and move Brown from Right Tackle to Left Tackle.

I still say Rod Graves is just a front. The real GMs of the Cardinals are the Coen Brothers.

Imagine the uproar if Fitz leaves for nada...OMG. Pitchforks & burnings will occur on Warner/Hardy & at the UoP. The FO couldn't possibly let that happen could they? I'll be suprised if he isn't traded before the draft or sometime during the season because I see no scenario that he would want to resign right now.

Frustrating & mind boggling...:bang::bang::bang:

Wouldn't happen. We suffer from Battered Fan Syndrome. We're enablers. The Arizona fans would just think it was business as usual and claim that the 3rd round WR we get from Gardner-Webb will eventually be better than Fitz and he's cheaper and that WRs aren't important enough to spend that much money on one.

Maybe they should hire Jerry Lundegard to be GM or better yet the badass dude from No Country For Old Men

I really believe he will be traded before the draft or sometime before the trade deadline during the season to somewhat save face. Once again the FO has put the team in a no win situation with a vital piece to winning. SOB's :bang:

Steve Keim is on the Cards staff and a top GM prospect. But Whiz won't listen to him.

I've never seen such a bunch of back-stabbing, ungrateful so-called fans in my life. When Whiz turns this around, I had better not see some of you singing his praises. ONE BAD SEASON & everyone jumps off the deep end. Are you kidding me??? Great coaches have these kind of years, but rebound. If we're looking like this next year, I'll understand. Until then, it's time to move on.

Name one great coach whose team finished last, going 1-5, in the worst division in the history of the NFL. A division won by a team that gave up a 100 more points than they scored and finished 7-9!

How about naming one great NFL coach whose team finished dead last in rushing attempts 3 years in a row?

The NFC West. What a division. Won 2 of the last three years by a team that gave up over 400 points. So much for Defense winning Championships.
I guess it is great irony, given those numbers, that the score of tonight's division championship game is 16-6.

Whiz will be back next year, we all know it. My guess is Fitz will be traded (say it ain't so) before the next season starts. Life sucks.

I was on the Wiz bandwagon before he was even hired, he helped lead us to a Super Bowl & I don't think he has forgotten how to coach in just 1 season. The players & coaches all need to look in the mirrors this offseason & evaluate what they need to make right a return trip to the playoffs. Please give us a big time QB...

Amen...the crying and myopia around here is almost unbearable. Considering the circumstances and personnel, I just don't understand why so many here are surprised. Combine the worst qb's in the NFL with a mediocre run game and a pathetic defense, and it's going to be a tough year. Get a half decent QB in here, and we'll see what kind of team we have.

Jimmy Johnson started out 1-15 and then 7-9.
Belichick had losing records 4 out of 5 years in Cleveland. His 1st year in NE was also 5-11 and went 1-5 in his division.
Noll went 1-13 and let off 404 points in a 14 game schedule, 5-9, 6-8
Just saying coaches have bad years.
On the other hand the worst record George Allen ever had was 8-6.

Exactly. People apparently have forgotten how god-awful the steelers were last year with a nearly identical roster to the one they have this year.

Not even a close comparrison IMO. The Steelers went 9-7 and lost by an average of 4 points and play in a much tougher division and their 2009 schedule was harder than the Cards 2010 schedule.

The 2010 Cardinals lost 11 games by an average of 17.2 points in a much weaker division with a much easier schedule.

I'll just add a few GREAT coaches to the list CBus already supplied:

Tom Landry
1st 5 seasons
0-11-1
4-9-1
5-8-1
4-10
5-8-1

Last 3 yrs
7-9
7-8
3-13

Bill Cowher
7-9 in '98
6-10 in '99
6-10 in '03

Dick Vermeil
Had these stinkers during his career
4-10
5-9
3-6
5-11
4-12
6-10
7-9

Bill Parcells
3-12-1 in '83
6-9 in '87
5-11 in '93
6-10 in '95
6-10 in '04

Even the great Vince Lombardi MISSED the playoffs in 4 of his 10 seasons as a HC.

The year Johnson was 1-15 the Giants were 12-4. Eagles 11-5. Skins 10-6. A far cry from the worst division in the NFL.

Chuck Noll started with 3 losing seasons. It was 14 years before he had another.

Belichick hasn't had a losing season in 10 years and that 5-11 year? NE was the only team in the division with a losing record.

Fisher had a similar season to CKW in 2005 but the Colts were 12-4 and the Jags 11-5 that season.

Bill Cowher never went 5-11.

Vince Lombardi never had a losing season.

Landry was fired after going 3-13.

Dick Vermeil only won 11 more than he lost. I wouldn't call him a GREAT coach.

No matter how thick your Kool Aid glasses are this season has been horrific and given the number of veteran players who left in the off season it really calls into question the ability of this coaching staff.

We are not a franchise that will win 10 or 11 games every year, so get over it. If Whiz is phenomenally successful here & stays 15 years, we will see at least a few more 5-11 campaigns. That's football. If you can't handle that, become a Patriots fan!!
