I certainly remember Eric Bieniemy, the player. I understand that he's the OC for the Chiefs, and that apparently means something. Wasn't he also the OC there under Alex Smith? I don't remember that offense being very special, especially in the playoffs. I guess my point is that I'm not sure Bieniemy has anything to do with KC's current offense. Reid makes all the offensive decisions there & Mahomes would make any coach look good. Someone enlighten me, as I'm sure I might be missing something with Mr. Bieniemy.
Actually bieniemy has only been OC for a year. Nagy preceded him. So . . . under Reid looks like Nagy learned a lot in that position. The hope would be Reid’s tutelage continues to pay dividends. I’m interested, but not sold, in him. Zac Taylor too so far.

Bienemy did have 2 years as a play caller while a college OC at least

Thanks. I know they’ve always been willing to part ways with talented players, but my understanding was as long as they had Brady they considered others expendable (Chandler Jones, Malcom Butler, etc).
When the other players become too high priced they just cut/trade them and then proceed to bring in a favorable replacement.

I would take Stoops or Shaw. Higher on Stoops.
I'm leery of college coaches. There have been several successful, even legendary, college coaches who have been disasters in the NFL. Just to name a few:

Bud Wilkenson(older Card fans know of what I speak)
Lou Holtz
Steve Spurrier
Chip Kelly
Nick Saban
Butch Davis
Bobby Petrino
Dennis Erickson

For every Jimmy Johnson and Pete Carroll there are those I named above.

Keep this thread going guys. It's more exciting than anything that happened this season, with the possible exception of beating the Packers!

:cards:
That game cost me the "win prediction" for the year.

I like gase and taylor, but in that case would be a great value having bowles as defensive coordinator

Peter Carmichael. Read his bio and you will start to drool. He has been the Saints OC for 10 years. Their offense has consistently been in the top 6 in the league averaging close to 400 yds. of offense a game. Now one could say he's had Drew Brees and that's true, but he has experience and has had a huge amount of success. Apparently Payton likes his work. We'd be crazy not to ask for permission to talk to him.
