I remember alot of people didn't want Andy Reid. McCarthy may be a poor man's Reid, but he's this years version of him. Being a proven coach who just didn't get a ton of support. Won a championship though, and very competitive most years.

I'd just be sure to ask him about creativity on offense and make sure he can adapt to today's NFL. What he did to help develop Rodgers as he sat behind Favre. What he could for Rosen, and what offense he would run to play to his strengths. Without Rodgers, the Packers offense looked as bad or worse than ours... in multiple seasons. I'd ask him why.
My view is Roger's compensated for a lot of deficiencys. It wore thin for him when they let some of their linemen go and the line wasn't given enough priority.

He'd be like Arians, good at first then It'd wear thin.

Peter Carmichael. Read his bio and you will start to drool. He has been the Saints OC for 10 years. Their offense has consistently been in the top 6 in the league averaging close to 400 yds. of offense a game. Now one could say he's had Drew Brees and that's true, but he has experience and has had a huge amount of success. Apparently Payton likes his work. We'd be crazy not to ask for permission to talk to him.
I’m interested too but I think the knock is more than just having brees. The question is did Payton call/design plays?

And they hired someone else...lol

He withdrew his name and was never formally interviewed.

"Though he did not travel to Atlanta this week to formally interview for the job, Whisenhunt spoke to school officials about the position and appeared to be in the running as of early Thursday afternoon, when he held his weekly press briefing at the Chargers’ Costa Mesa training facility.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be considered for that position at a school that I played for and have very strong feelings for, and the process is still ongoing,” Whisenhunt said. “But right now my focus is still on our team.”

I think this has been already been mentioned by posters here on this board, but ICYMI

This past April, the Cardinals traded up to slot 10 to draft Josh Rosen, one spot ahead of the Dolphins. Many believed Adam Gase was a fan of Rosen coming out of UCLA and that he was on Miami’s radar at pick 11.

I certainly remember Eric Bieniemy, the player. I understand that he's the OC for the Chiefs, and that apparently means something. Wasn't he also the OC there under Alex Smith? I don't remember that offense being very special, especially in the playoffs. I guess my point is that I'm not sure Bieniemy has anything to do with KC's current offense. Reid makes all the offensive decisions there & Mahomes would make any coach look good. Someone enlighten me, as I'm sure I might be missing something with Mr. Bieniemy.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, Bieniemy seems to be a hot commodity yet Reid is the one calling the shots in KC and calling the plays. How much influence does Bieniemy really have over the offense? I'm still in the Pete Carmichael camp. Being around Sean Payton for 11 years has to have a positive influence on your abilities as a OC. I know Payton calls the plays there too however being in that offense for 11 years has to be a good thing. The one thing I suspect is Carmichael has no interest in becoming a HC. His name is not even floating around out there as a potential HC.

In other news the NFL web site has the following names connected to the Cardinals:
Zac Taylor Rams QBC
Eric Bieniemy Chiefs OC
Dan Campbell, Saints assistant head coach/tight ends coach

Browns and Packers are also interested in Campbell. Funny Gase isn't even listed as a potential HC for another team.

I suspect Carmichael may not be interested in a HC gig. You don't even see his name being floated out there as a potential HC. He is one of my favorites.
