FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wednesday, May 7, 2003 4:34pm
Tempe, Arizona — All Arizona Cardinals games will be
heard in Spanish on KSUN Radio (1400 AM) for the next
three seasons.
The Cardinals’ new three-year agreement with KSUN, also
known as Radio Fiesta, also includes a variety of
promotional, retail, and charitable programs focusing
on the Hispanic community.
Additionally, the Cardinals have retained BMB &
Associates (Boeta, Morris & Brown) to serve as the
sales and marketing agency for the team’s
Spanish-language broadcasts. In that capacity, Boeta,
Morris & Brown will work with the Cards to market all
commercial inventory, and with the team and station to
develop ancillary retail and promotional programs.
“This is much more than a Spanish-language broadcast
agreement for the Cardinals,” offers Vice
President-Sales and Marketing Ron Minegar. “The
strength of this relationship is based upon the
opportunity to work closely with KSUN in developing a
broad marketing platform from which we can activate a
wide variety of promotional initiatives, retail
programs, community relations, and charitable efforts.
KSUN will play a large role in helping us connect with
the local Hispanic community and invite it to become
part of the Cardinals’ family as we move towards the
new stadium in Glendale.”
Pedro Marquez, owner of KSUN, says, “KSUN is well known
for its Spanish-language sports programming. We have a
very loyal audience because we have always strived to
provide them with entertainment of the highest caliber
in our music and sports broadcasts. Our joint venture
with the Cardinals allows Radio Fiesta to continue that
tradition of excellence while also giving our audience
a new and exciting brand of entertainment. The KSUN
team is looking forward to being part of an effort to
revolutionize the way the National Football League
approaches the Spanish-language market.”
Adds Rene Boeta of BMB & Associates, “The Hispanic
community is an important part of our future and I am
pleased to see the Cardinals’ organization proactively
reach out and invite Hispanics to be part of their
future.”
