Through his many faults, he is tied for the second most wins in franchise history and improvement over 3 seasons. Huge step back this year though.

Texas Tech is definitely the #1 school in Texas where all the 5 star recruits go and college talent is definitely relatively equal across the board.

He wasn't hired for his defensive aptitude nor for his skill in recruiting high school players that's for sure.
Weird how traditional powers like Texas Christian and Baylor and Houston were all able to string together really good stretches during Kliff’s time there and he wasn’t.

And any comparison his predecessor when we for decades were the worst franchise in sports is laughable.

The guy can’t win. Doesn’t matter where you put him. His teams are undisciplined, disorganized trainwrecks.

Sad, but it’s the fact that he looks young and successful (a la McVay) that has propelled him into his ongoing opportunities, despite true evidence/analytics that prove otherwise.

I also wonder because even today the announcers talked about how smart and creative he is.

I just don't see it

The sheer volume of injuries this team has is amazing too. I saw a stat that we were worst in the league for injuries. When you’re that beat up you have to wonder if the scheme is putting players at greater risk. It seems like something more than bad luck is going on.

Smart, creative, hardworking people are successful at their professions. Kliff has failed everywhere he has been so clearly he’s missing one or more of the above attributes.
I think Kliff works hard and puts A lot of time in, but it just doesn’t seem to come together or look well oiled out on the field. Seems like we are always plugging a leak somewhere

I mean, he got 11 wins last year, which is still very hard to do. 2nd year very close to winning, but considering the year before KM/KK I was not expecting a realistic playoff push by year 2, even though that season crashed pretty badly as well.

Baylor had an extremely weak SoS, TCU had the hardest, TT 2nd. Houston was pretty good, but had by far the weakest SoS. SOS matters in college way more, even the worst NFL team is gunna be better than any college team.

TT has had 1 double digit win season once in 2008 and the next one is....1976. So seems TT has never been good. I do fault him for accepting awful teams to coach, so his judgment IS questionable that's for sure.

They gambled on his offense with KM, it's working okay I guess, more issues than just KK, just very frustrating for real, but honestly better than expected.

What pisses me off is that this team is so stupid that even if we pull out a win at the end, watching the game wasn't even enjoyable. This team is annoying to watch. I've seen some hideous football but this team makes me want to break things.

And for the love of all that is holy, get an offensive coordinator to smooth out the communication issues and everything else. It's fundamental at this point.

I’ll admit he’s not exactly give ‘85 Bears talent thanks to Keim. But it’s the same things every week - plays not
coming in on time, countless mistimed screen calls, bonehead decisions, etc. dude can’t coach.

What really makes me wonder about what is happening behind the scene is those creative and innovative play designs/calls we saw in KK's first two seasons just suddenly all disappeared this season. Why?

When Keim was promoted to GM, he said his number 1 priority was fixing the trenches. He then proceeded to do the exact opposite.

But at least we have a TE2 who commits 3 penalties in the span of 5 minutes!
Yeah. KK/KM get a lot of face time so they take the brunt of criticism, but Keim leaves more to be desired.
